Dietrich OTC Watch Is Pretty Cool For �1,000
The boutique, relatively affordable, watch brand Dietrich will soon release a brand new model that we think is going to be rather cool for the price. Their new watch is called the Dietrich OTC (OTC-A01), and rather than "over the counter," that stands for "Organic Time Chronometer." Sound like a lot of hype? Well the name certainly is. The piece isn't a COSC certified chronometer and while the design is fluid and organic in style, I don't think the OTC was grown in field without the use of pesticide. Having said that, Dietrich does make a cool watch and there is a lot to look forward to here.We first encountered Dietrich back in 2011 when we gave a hands-on look at the Dietrich Snow watch. The founder and designer Emmanuel Dietrich is back for 2014 with a watch that he claims now "perfectly matches his exceptions." Audemars Piguet Square Royal Oak from the 80s-90s - info or opinions?
Hello All,I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight regarding my most recent purchase. I was specifically looking for an 80s watch and it doesnt get more 80s than this (square/angular style, two tone, and quartz). Although I was looking for a vintage thunderbird/turnograph or datejust from this time period, when i saw this, i let my impulse get the best of me.From my research, all I could gather is that this seems like a newer square royal oak because it has a date feature (might actually be from the 90s maybe?). But I dont know the model number or anything else. If someone can chime in with more information, that would be great. The only thing written on the watch is the serial number on the back.Also, feel free to let me know what you guys think about this watch. It is kinda dated, but I find it very unique and intriguing.Collectors say to avoid vintage quartz watches. But avoiding quartz watches is basically ignoring the 70s and 80s i'd say.

Rubberclad Bezel-Rubber replacement
So I'm sure this has been asked before but my search using the search-function has found me no results in the 20 minutes I back tracked so I will pose this question to the good people here on the AP subsection.Have any of you had the rubber on any of your rubberclads replaced? I've e-mailed AP service here in Japan and in the US and they both say the entire bezel (with metal), must be replaced.I could have sworn that wasn't the case...

Yet Another 2-time 2254 SMP Owner
After 10 years, the 2254 is back on my wrist. When I last had one, I was a brand new owner of a 16610, which was purchased for full price with taxes (12% discounted) from my AD. At the time, I probably didn't want to admit that the SMP made my shiny Sub look a bit overpriced. My wrists were half an inch smaller back then, and I was uncomfortable with either watch, so I quickly sold both. Ever since then, I've had the 2254 on my short list of watches to buy. OMEGA's decision to discontinue it was the last provocation that I needed, but finding one at a good price was not easy because most of them that pop up on sales forums are snatched up immediately. Last weekend, I chanced upon this gently enjoyed example from a gentleman in in New York and pounced on it within 5 minutes of his posting. The Speedy style bracelet and sword hands are my favorite features. This is a keeper for sure. The lume shot has been enhanced with Photoshop's auto contrast filter.
