Seiko Donates Spring Drive Spacewalk Sale Proceeds to Charities
On September 17, 2009, the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk watch that was taken into space by Richard Garriott was auctioned at Antiquorum’s New York sale. The sale generated lively bidding, and the selling price exceeded both the reserve and the pre-sale estimate. Seiko has now donated the sale proceeds to the two charities that Richard Garriott supports, the Nature Conservancy and the Challenger Center for Space Science Education. In early 2010, Seiko will release a 100 piece commemorative edition of the Spacewalk. Richard Garriott's intention has always been that the watch that Seiko created for his space adventure would be made available to a wider public as a way of promoting space travel and the furtherance of space science. This Limited Edition commemorative watch turns this ambition to reality.Below, the Spring Drive Spacewalk sold at the Antiquorum sale

That should scare off most...Just received this in the mail today.Stainless steel case, signs of polishing, dial slightly less than perfect. Elegant and thin, completely opposite it's new owner...Must say I have a weakness for the cushion case, although this one doesn't have a round face. Also love high-end watches that are low in demand (and therefore low priced!)Kinda have to watch the second hand move to avoid confusing it with the minute hand. But I have a feeling I'll get used to it!
5575 Procurement & Secondary
Mates - I'm in the process of procuring the 5575G and in the event I am not able, was curious as to opinions on the price in the secondary market. Do you think there will be a significant premium for this piece over retail ? Or do you think it will sell closer to its retail price ? Looking forward to your comments.
Trying to decide on a new PAM317, 335 or a 438?
Looking for advise on my first Panerai. This will not be a daily wearer and I do like to change my bands on my other watches. I currently own a breitling blackbird and a Bell & Ross BR02. My B&R is my daily driver but want something a little more unique and dresser for evenings out with wife and friends. My initial thinking is to get the PAM438 to get the ceramic bracelet and add some leather bands but I can't help but like the PAM317 and 335 for there power reserves. The 317K is really cool as well with the PVD coated internal parts. My concerns are they are all relatively similar in price but the 438 since it's newer seems to be the least discounted on the resale market. Also, I would like to buy something I won't see often since my others are more common place and I want it to hold its value as well as possible. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
ss skydweller
Anyone get a skydweller from an ad lately. I have been first up for 3 months for a black at my ad. Today he told me he has not received any watches since nov. but thinks he will be receiving alot of stock in jan.
