Audemars Piguet made efforts to disseminate its products anywhere in the world
Well, it seems certainly that the Swiss luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet made efforts to disseminate its products anywhere in the world and the name. Recently, the brand announced its sponsorship of Russian ballet and the signature of the principal dancer of ballet as a new Ambassador of the brand; Perhaps the first time a brand watch was such a thing.
Turtle vs Turtle: Looking at the 6309 and the SRP77x's
The 6309-7040 is undoubtedly one of Seiko's most iconic divers. Manufactured by the brand from 1976 to 1988, the 6309 was the bedrock of Seiko's recreational diver collection for approximately 12 years. Amongst Seiko fanatics, it remains one of the firm's most popular pieces. So when Seiko first announced the SRP77x, the brand's reissue of the 6309-7040, we knew it had the potential to be a huge hit. In our view, its success would ultimately hinge on Seiko producing a faithful reinterpretation of the beloved diver, keeping the general feel and look of the 6309 while retaining the solid bang-for-your-buck build quality that Seiko is known for.As it turns out, Seiko did not disappoint (read our review here). Full disclosure: I am a huge fan of the 6309. It is undoubtedly one of my favorite watches, and not just from Seiko. So when I reviewed the SRP77x, I did so with a highly critical eye. Buzz Aldrin 105.012?
In reading old threads and doing an internet search there does seem to be some disagreement on which watch Aldrin wore as he stepped onto the moon, 105.012 or 145.012. Since Aldrin's watch was lost/stolen we will never know for 100% certain. However the following article certainly makes it look like Aldrin wore a 105.012. Opinions? Do some of you believe Aldrin wore a 145.012, and if so why?monochrome-watches/omega-...rly-pre-moons/
233 Dome Crystal - Ruud Van Egg-on-Face
Ok, let's get this over with. I have to confess that I got this one horribly, horribly wrong. I could've sworn the 233 I was admiring a couple of weeks back had a normal crystal. My guy at OP has just confirmed the 233 still has the domed crystal. I'm now off to go find a huge towel to wipe the egg off my face. My apologies guys. See attached pics of an S Serial 233 (I've edited out the number), which my man has just sent me.
Trying on GMT
Yesterday I tried on a GMT for the first time. I am actually interested in a Sub date, but I understood the case of the GMT is the same, so at least I got an idea of the feel of the watch. I notice the lug to lug measure might be a bit too long for me. Or will it be fine once the strap is adjusted to my wrist?Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met Tapatalk
