Well, it seems certainly that the Swiss luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet made efforts to disseminate its products anywhere in the world and the name. Recently, the brand announced its sponsorship of Russian ballet and the signature of the principal dancer of ballet as a new Ambassador of the brand; Perhaps the first time a brand watch was such a thing.

Buzz Aldrin 105.012?
In reading old threads and doing an internet search there does seem to be some disagreement on which watch Aldrin wore as he stepped onto the moon, 105.012 or 145.012. Since Aldrin's watch was lost/stolen we will never know for 100% certain. However the following article certainly makes it look like Aldrin wore a 105.012. Opinions? 233 Dome Crystal - Ruud Van Egg-on-Face
Ok, let's get this over with. I have to confess that I got this one horribly, horribly wrong. I could've sworn the 233 I was admiring a couple of weeks back had a normal crystal. My guy at OP has just confirmed the 233 still has the domed crystal. I'm now off to go find a huge towel to wipe the egg off my face. My apologies guys. Trying on GMT
Yesterday I tried on a GMT for the first time. I am actually interested in a Sub date, but I understood the case of the GMT is the same, so at least I got an idea of the feel of the watch.
