Watch The 2015 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve Live On HODINKEE Tomorrow
At exactly 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time tomorrow (Thursday, October 29th), the world of fine watchmaking will gather at the grand theater in Geneva for the most prestigious celebration of horology in the world at the 2015 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve, or GPHG. Over a dozen category winners will be announced, ranging from chronographs to calendars, sports watches, tourbillons, ladies watches, and more. From there, the winner of the night's biggest prize, the “AIGUILLE D’OR," or "Golden Hand" will be presented. Last year Breguet's Classique Chronometer took home the main prize and this year's group of entries may bring us a few surprises. HODINKEE will be broadcasting the entire GPHG 2015 ceremony right here (beginning at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time (6:30 p.m. Swiss). For a reminder of who is nominated for what, have a look here and be sure to tune in!
Advice Please
Hello Guys. I have a chance to buy this ROO, its 2-3 months old (June 2013) and selling for 17,950 ($27,955) is this a good price and a good purchase? thanks
Is this a fair price for a pre-owned 2011 Aquanaut 5167?
Good condition. Keeps time well and not polished.Has all the papers/box etc. Bought on December 2011. Not been serviced.Buyer is asking for USD $15,000.What do you guys think?I have seen brand new ones for $18,000. Would you think this is a fair price?I like to buy being on the safe side because based on my previous experiences, I have ended up selling some of my watches a few months after purchase.I just want to make sure I won't take a big hit if it came to that and I just didn't bond with the watch very much.
Service Issue
Recently I have had my Yacht-Master serviced. It's a 2002 model F serial number and was purchased used in 2011. I noticed that there were scratches on the bezel, but it never bothered me. Seven years later I send it in to be serviced due to a vibration that was felt when I shook my wrist to adjust its position. When I got it back I see they had polished the bezel and I can't make my mind up if it is something that bothers me or not. I'm hesitant to say anything but I'm not exactly happy. I will see if I can add before as well as after photographs. Any opinion on the matter is greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Newbie with a Cosmograph DaytonaQuestion
Hello I hope the Rolex Community can give me some advice please as a newbie.I've owned a few Rolex watches but am looking at getting a new Daytona. Can you tell me why there is such a price increase over RRP and an extensive waiting time for the Daytona 116500LN but I am able to get a new Daytona 116503 for list price in the UK?Also what is the difference in these 2 watches (except price) other than the 116503 is Steel with Yellow Gold?Am I missing something and is the 116500LN ultra rare and the one to own?
