Perrelet Turbine XL America Limited Edition Watch
Apparently the 4th of July comes a bit late this year as Perrelet has just released a very American watch that celebrates our stars and stripes. See, if the Swiss can love America I am sure there is hope for our economy. Just send some of those excess Francs you guys keep whining about."Boohoo! Our money is sooo valuable!" They truly are an oppressed people. This cool new watch makes me happy to look at and is a special rendition of the newer Turbine XL watch. Perrelet also released two special edition (also limited) Turbine (non XL) watches that I will discuss in another post. What is exactly is up with the comically buff Uncle Sam? Why is he so pissed off? And who does our patriarch of patriots wish to punch? At least we know he puts on a Perrelet when getting pugilistic. The Turbine XL America (see more stuff here) is 50mm wide in DLC black coated steel (ref. A4015/1). The outer bezel has blue sections with white stars (50 of them! Notice how the sections have either 8 or 9 stars to a
AP G series - 3126/3840 movement question
After letting the watch sit for a few days, while turning the crown to get it started, it begins to feel 'grainy' after 2-3 turns. I tried to put it on a winder for 600 bidirectional rotations per day but the watch actually stops working for a while. Not sure if it becomes over wound because by the Orbita website, that is the recommended setting for the 3126 movement. Let me know if any of you guys think there is something wrong with the movement (re grainy feeling) or any best practice for not wearing the watch for a few days. After setting the time, it works perfectly. (Prob not a movement problem and rather a storage issue ??)

1st OMEGA - PO 8500 XL ON RUBBER - W/ PICS
I got my Planet Ocean 8500 XL about a week ago and its been pretty hard to take it off. I spent a lot of time debating between the XL and the 42mm. Up close, I really couldn't see too much difference. But when standing back about 6-10 feet, I could really appreciate the difference and knew the XL was the right choice. The next debate was between the bracelet and the rubber strap. I don't see too much of the strap around on the forums and to me that is a shame. It is easily the nicest rubber strap I have ever tried on. The only one I'd say is close to it is the one on the UN divers. The deployant on the rubber strap is also superb. I cannot really describe what it is about the rubber strap but for some reason I can just appreciate the details of the face of the watch more on the strap versus the bracelet. For those who have said the watch wears smaller on the rubber - I wholeheartedly agree. It also takes a lot of weight out of the watch and I like how it really doesn't look like rubber.
