My First Grail Watch: Chris Vail
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with?Chris Vail, the guy behind the Kickstarter darling, Lew & Huey.watches-dealer (ABTW):?Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Chris Vail:?I own a micro-brand, Lew & Huey. I design and sell watches online. People either love what I do, or wish I'd fall into a tree-shredder. I think most of the industry would choose "shredder."ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?Chris Vail:?Two years ago, when I stumbled on an online forum as I was looking for industry insights. I started off just thinking of them as a "product" like any other, very un-emotional about it. I ended up becoming as big a watch-geek as everyone else talking about watches online.ABTW: What was your first grail watch?Chris Vail:?I fell in love with the Omega Planet Ocea

Your first Patek
I guess I'm more of a sports watch type guy. Here's my first one.Only time will tell if this leads to more.
Current SD43 owners...
If Rolex replaces the Red Sea Dweller with White this year what do you plan to do with your watch? If this happens my assumption is the 2017 SD43 could become collectible and valuable, compared to MSRP. 1. Wear it as usual, watches are meant to be worn. 2. Box it up, lock it up for the day it's a valuable collector's watch.I'm considering my options on this. I'd like to preserve it's current nearly perfect state, but would also miss wearing it. Watches shouldn't be purchased as an investment, but some models become valuable over time. Red SD's from the 60's/70's (not sure when they were produced off the top of my head) have proven this could happen to the Red SD43. Even if it's Red for several years. Note: This is not a debate on whether this will happen. I know no one knows. I know they've never run an anniversary model for 1 year. This horse has been beaten to death, revived, then beaten to death again in plenty of other threads. Thanks for your input!
2 more deliveries?
Popped into my local AD today to pick up my BB red, (had issue with bezel)they were very apologetic, (not their fault) after a little chat, and a little comment from me saying no problem its not that i was with out a watch was it, they said no, not the point, and we know whats on your list, So now wondering, will any of them be delivered to them before xmas?? which I'm guessing is 2 more, nov, and dec??
