What to choose?
Hi guys,I'm looking at adding a Speedmaster Professional to my collection, but I have three options. These are:1. LNIB - modern 2007 model from a grey dealer. 2. 1978 model from a grey dealer that offers one year warranty. No box or papers. 3. 1978 model, without box and papers. Needs a service, doing this with Omega would give me a two year warranty, and an as good as new watch. All these options are similarly priced, so that should not be taken into consideration. What do you think would be the best option, and why?
Vintage Patek - Dial Patina - Restoration Question
Here is my Vintage Patek ref #2532. 2012-07-13 12.02.41.jpg2012-07-13 12.05.41.jpgI offered it as a trade in towards a ref# 5035 but they only offered me $4,500 so I decided to keep it.I am thinking of having it restored. As you can see, after 60 yrs, the bezel has corroded and needs replacement. BUT my real question is the dial.As you can see, the dial has oxidized and assumed a tan or brown patina. Other 2532s I have seen have white dials.Do you think the dial was once white but has oxidized? Will replacing the dial make it less valuable? Am I nuts for investing the money?I am actually a Rolex man, but the more I wear this watch, the more I like it.THANKS in advance.
Rolex 1016, can I fit the 78790 bracelet?
Question as per the title. I'd like to preserve the original bracelet, and have the added security of the flip lock on the 78790.Can it be fitted, and if so, which end links?

A big thanks to DAVIDSW. Just received a nice Christmas card and box of chocolates from him.
Pelagos V1 or V2
Hey Guys,I'm on the hunt for a daily wearer. I'm new to the higher end watch game, and am by no means an expert on movements, etc. I stumbled upon the Pelagos a few weeks ago and really like it. My preference is for black and therefore I have the the option of both v1 and v2. To be honest, I'm not sure that I have any preference when it comes to the various differences. 2 lines vs 5 lines, in house vs ETA, etc. I guess I maybe prefer the 2 lines but it's not a deal breaker. The in house movement seams nice with the larger power reserve, but the ETA is maybe simpler to service down the road and will do what I need it to do. I've found used v1's to be around $2,500. Used v2's a little over $3k. I'm leaning towards saving the money and going v1. Thoughts?
