New York Exhibit Celebrates 40 Years of Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
Audemars Piguet’s iconic sports watch with the octagonal bezel, the Royal Oak, turns 40 this year, and the Swiss watch firm plans to celebrate the milestone in style, kicking off a touring exhibit of 100 rare Audemars Piguet watches, set against an artistic multimedia presentation showcasing the brand and its history, with an opening engagement this week at New York’s Park Avenue Armory. Click “Read more” for photos from the exhibit. In 1972, with the quartz revolution gaining momentum, Audemars Piguet caused a stir in the watch world when it introduced to the market a luxury sports watch with an ultra-thin mechanical movement and an unconventional, octagonal steel case, at a price point that at the time was unthinkable for any watch not made of a precious metal. Blnr for 233 ?
Hi everyone, The more I see the 233, the more I want to own in. Just wondering what are everyone's thoughts on a possible trade. I'd rather not have the additional expense of adding another piece, so I have been considering trading my BLNR towards/for a 233. So I figure I'd post and get suggestions from fellow members. Thanks,
How is a Submariner dial like this made? Is it a sticker?
Looking through fleabay I see this seller selling this one and a roulette dial version. They can't be hand painted... Can they? They can't be pad printed with so many colors I don't think. So are they stripping a perfectly good Submariner dial and then putting a sticker on it and then putting the markers back on? That is all I can imagine they could be doing with dials like this.ebay.to/2srCeVi Here is the first one.And here is the roulette version.ebay.to/2GfZRlMI would like to know what experienced knowledgeable Rolex experts think about how these are made. Thanks!
