COMCO: Swatch Group Can Stop Mechanical Movement Sales in 2020
Switzerland's Competition Commission (COMCO) has approved a plan allowing the Swatch Group to reduce gradually sales of mechanical movements to companies outside the group over the next six years, and to halt sales completely in 2020. Click here for details on the ruling. The mechanical movement ruling settles a controversial issue that has bedeviled the Swiss watch industry for the past four years. On the related C and even more controversial C issue of sales of escapements, the regulating organ in a mechanical watch, COMCO left in place its July 12 ruling that it is premature to allow any reductions in Swatch Group sales of those key components. The Swatch Group issued no formal reaction to the decision on mechanical movements. Rolex DJ 41 Two-Tone right now or save for a Day-Date in Rose Gold?
Background: I'm 36, male, bald (shaved head), close-cropped perma-beard, athletically built (6'2, 215lbs, broad shoulders). I mention this to offer some context for the question I'm wrestling with about my next purchase.Current Collection: Submariner 114060 (2016) that is my daily/travel/go-everywhere watch. I have a Deep Blue dive watch from my significant other that I wear casually on a NATO and an Orient Polaris GMT (from my deceased mom) on a blue gator strap. The Orient and Deep Blue are obviously sentimental so I'm not looking to duplicate either of those.Personal Style: I work either from home or at a client site in software, so dressing for work is very casual. I haven't worn a suit in a few years but wear sportcoats with slacks regularly for more dressy occasions. I also live in Southern California, so between my line of work and location it's really casual. I tend to wear what I'd call refined-casual; have been taking style inspiration recently from easy Italian looks-- lots
A very Pepsi everyday carry...
I had no idea my everyday carry was this much Pepsi until I put it all down on my work desk this morning:I've carried fountain pens with those two colors of ink at work every day for years now, and it never occurred to me that they are Pepsi-themed until today!
