AP rubber straps
Does anyone know who manufactures AP's rubber straps? (assuming they are not made in house)I would like to get a specific color but AP said no so I am wondering if I can get a custom one made?Any thoughts?
Moon Phase... it's HERE! Squeeeee!
I just met with Eric, a lovely guy who operates oldwatch. After many days of questions and answers, I decided to take the plunge and we just met up to close the deal. Ca. 1950 Omega moon phase. All functions in working order - I just have to figure them out. There are 3 little buttons along the sides of the case that adjust the day, month and date hand. The silvered dial is original and unrefinished. Oh happy day. This is Eric, authority on and purveyor of excellent vintage watches at oldwatch. He's wearing a WWII bomber's watch.
Auto Speedy 44
I want to get my hands on a newer 44mm Speedy Pro automatic. These seem to be VERY difficult to find. Any ideas on where I could find one? Used or new is fine. Good AD hookup?
A "cool" shot.
Here is another shot done in the refrigerator, the world's best light box! Handheld, 35mm f/2.0
Rolex hits a home run
Minimal changes. That which is new looks to sinificant past designs and models. Why break what has worked for the last near 70 years of sports oyster models?By offering tribute, they reinforce the past and catalyze interest in the already popular vintage models. Play tribute for a year or two..... reinvent from the past. Gain exclusivity.... we will keep buying, complaining about supply, and ultimately driving up costs....Genius. My hats off. Keep up the great work.
