Help deciding on an AP Chrono
Gentlemen, I’m thinking of purchasing a new AP steel Chrono. I’ve been out of the AP brand for about 10 years. Had a couple of RO Chrono years ago. What all steel model would y’all recommend? I don’t care for straps or rubber. All steel Chrono with a nice looking dial (blue preferably) around 20k+-. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
RO spotted at USGA Open players press conference
On Matt Kuchar, sporting a RO Chronograph at the daily press interviews. I don't see him listed as an AP ambassador on their web page so I'll be interested to see what other time pieces he wears, if any. Obviously he has good taste, and it did look real good on him.
awesome...
Hi Guys... This is a watch you do not see everyday... here she is.. one of my favourates and this is why.. because for me it represents a lot of soul.... and demonstrates Panerais's Engineering Might and its ability to cater for the best......Mike Horn (a great South African modern day explorer, Chris must be pleased) started testing Panerai watches in 2001.. he planned a trip to treck the Antarktic and Panerai designed a special watch for him. it was AMAGNETIC where all the components would not get effected by the magnetic field and it also had special fluids as to operate on extream temperature.. Mike horn wore the watch during his trip and said at under -70deg C, all his sophisticated instruments froze on him with the exception to the Panerai ARKTOS. the Pam 92 ARKTOS was issued as limited edition of 500 in 2004.. after the first stage of the treck Mike asked for the watch to be modified to have the GMT function... Panerai then quickly modified the watch and sent it to him... hence
Incoming Sub - Resize bracelet myself or let the shop do it?
I have a Submariner Date Ceramic (116610LN) arriving this week. The shop asked me if I want them to resize the bracelet (small wrist). They're not an AD but sourced it from an AD and sell a lot of watches. What do you guys recommend? Let them do it or ask them to ship the watch untouched and do it myself?Taking into account:- I bought a watchmaker screwdriver with four tips (1.0+1.2+1.4+1.6mm). I think it is good ($35) but never really used it before, anything is possible.- I bought a bottle of Loctite 222.- I have some painter's tape to put on the bracelet.- I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to do it like a boss.HOWEVER:- I'm usually pretty bad with this type of precision handywork/fixes. I'm a clumsy mo#cker.- Never did it before and don't want to damage anything (strip screws, etc). What would you guys recommend as the least terrible idea? Do it myself or let the shop do it?
