Voutilainen GMR Watch For 2015
One of my favorite independent watch makers, Mr. Kari Voutilainen, is coming out with at least one new watch this year, and it is the beautiful new Voutilainen GMR as a limited edition of just 12 pieces. The Voutilainen GMR (I believe it is named as such because it combines a GMT function with a power reserve indicator) is a gorgeous addition to the Voutilainen family, combining welcome and familiar aesthetics with a new dark dial which just hints at sportiness. The Voutilainen GMR more-or-less takes the Voutilainen GMT-6 (hands-on here) and adds a power reserve indicator while changing up the GMT indicator a bit. What makes the Voutilainen GMR so useful is that it both allows the wearer to know when to wind the watch, as well as offering a second time zone via the GMT hand. The hands of each are hand-made and here colored red (which is part of that slightly sporty look in the watch that I referenced above). The Voutilainen GMR watch dial is produced from solid silver which has been hand

Patek Rose Gold Tone
Greetings, gentlemenI am in the process of reorganizing my humble collection, moving pieces I don't really wear that much and adding ones I would love and wear few days at a time on a weekly basis. In doing so, I noticed that the tone of Rose Gold is different for different brands. I really like my patek's RG tone, but not the watch itself, which I'll be moving. I'll have to replace it with something else as I would love to still have a RG watch in rotation. so, the question is... Has anyone ever compile a tone comparison of RG? In your experience, is there any other brands/manufacturers has similar RG tone as Patek and/or how are they different in tone? (for example, compared to rolex/AP/JLC/etc.) If there is such a reference, it would make the decision for many collectors looking into Rose Gold watches easier. To start off, I know that the tone of Patek's RG is warmer than that of ALS', which is just a tad more red than Patek's YG. I don't have a pic to show as I already let go of my
Now what?!?!? (Pic Heavy)
I'm on the hunt for the next watch (again) and hoping to add one more piece to the collection before the end of the year. I currently have the BLNR, a SS black dial Daytona, and an AP ROO (Black Themes). I think I want something on strap More importantly, got to be versatile even if it's on the dressy side (if that makes sense). I was on my way home from a business meeting and naturally, had to swing by an AD to see what they had. Plenty to look at and I had great time trying several pieces on. Thanks JoannaObviously, each is quite different, a large $$$ discrepancy between certain models, and each has something unique that makes it really standout. Oddly enough, the last one I tried on (the PP Travel Time) was the one that really stood out for me. Ironically, I tried it on just as I was about to walk out! Rubber was not something I was considering but everything about the watch just works in my opinion. Thoughts and suggestions welcome!
16710 crown with double dash??
Sorry if this has been asked and answered previously, but I can't find a thread link. I am looking at a 16710 W series and noticed that the crown has a double dash under the coronet. What does that signify as I thought there was only one dash to represent a twin-lock crown system?A friend thinks it might have something to do with the type of metal or it could be the lowest of the water proof ratings, eg: 2 dots is on the gmt's 3 dots is Subs and Seadwellers Appreciate someone helping me clarify this.
