Tried on several APs today
Well stopped by Govberg in Philly today and hit up the second floor with the good stuff after looking at the Rolexes, Balls and Cartiers on the bottom floor. I'm beat but I tried own 5-7 AP, some VC PP, Roger Dubois, and a Brietling tourbillon. I'll elaborate tomorrow but catching the Zzzs now. Just wanted to share before bed.
Omega Durability
Hi All:I was thinking seriously about a Speedy recently. I love the way they look, and I know when NASA stress tested them to become the moon watch they beat out Rolex and Longines-Wittnauer, so I figure they have to be well made and accurate. However... I have also heard that if you move your hand around violently enough enough you can send the rotor through the spring - there's no plate separating the two inside the watch. Does this sound right? Anyone actually have this happen?
Best Clasp...SMP or Speedy ??
It's no secret....My favorite Omegas are the Speedy Pro and the Seamaster Pro (with swords). Both of these watches come with identical bracelets; one of the most comfortable on the market. However, they each come with a different clasp. The Speedy comes with a slightly smaller clasp, but it is equipped with a couple of micro holes for adjustment, a nice touch. Unfortunately, the smaller clasp allows much of the deployant clamshell to fit under the links and while not a huge issue, does make it slightly less well thought out.The SMP comes with a slightly longer clasp to hide the divers extension link so the deployant is covered by the clasp, but any adjustment needs to be done by adding or removing links...even for a slight seasonal comfort change.Overall, I would like to see the Speedy come equipped with the larger SMP clasp. The real winner would be if they put a couple of micro holes in the SMP clasp and fitted it to all their Pro line.Semaster Pro on the left and Speedy Pro on the
Why the heck not THIS kind of Patek ad?
As effective as they are for suckers like me, its always father/son and mother/daughter pairings. I get why that makes sense. But since I enjoy the happy happenstance of having had daughters and not sons, I don't quite fit the mold.So why not something like THIS? Heh heh.Sorry for the poor copy formatting, am not a pro at Adobe, etc.
Show off your before and after Michael Young bracelet repairs
This thread was not my inspiration, but its a good idea to post before and after photos of Michael Young's work. For the New member here looking for help with their bracelet, Michael Young seems to be the Best at this craft. Also as a Photo thread everyone would enjoy the magic that a true artisan like MY can deliver .I'll start this off with my before shot and will add the after when I get it back. One shot should include the bracelet before flex
