Roger Dubuis Hommage Millesime Unique Pocket Watch
So here is something new from Roger Dubuis, and it is not just a very impressive looking pocket watch, but also something that the Swiss luxury watch brand hopes will be a new tradition for them. Known simply as the Roger Dubuis Hommage Millesime pocket watch, this item is a one-of-a-kind creation based on a challenging restoration project of a vintage pocket watch movement. In fact, "millesime" in French simply means "vintage." Roger Dubuis has announced that they will produce one such piece unique "restored vintage" watch each year and that those items will be available for sale exclusively in Roger Dubuis brand boutiques around the world. That sounds like a pretty decent way of getting people in stores, or at least the stores that have these items. Will the second model be called the Roger Dubuis Hommage Millesime 2?This Roger Dubuis Hommage Millesime will reside at the upcoming Roger Dubuis brand boutique in Geneva, scheduled to open in July of 2015. As the first of its kind, the R
Nomos Lux & Nomos Lambda Gold Watch Lines Enhanced With Beautiful Colors And Smaller Cases
This time last year, Nomos announced two new lines that exclusively used gold for their case construction. At the time, we debuted both the Nomos?Lux and the Nomos Lambda?models, which were an entirely new direction for Nomos, offering a level of technology, craftsmanship and finishing, not to mention price, that is well above the small German brand's core line up. This month, Nomos will expand both lines, adding a trio of women's models to the Nomos Lux line and a new dark blue dial to the white gold version of the Nomos Lambda. The new Nomos Lux versions come in three original colors - Sable (aubergine, ref. 942),?Ermine (grey, ref. 940), and Cicada (lemon yellow, ref. 941). Unlike the white gold original Nomos Lux, all three 2014 references are offered exclusively in 18k rose gold and the cases have been downsized slightly from the original 40.5 x 35 mm to 38.5 x 34 mm, with the thickness holding at 9 mm.The new sizing and colors (two of which the brand says were?inspired by fur) off

Why Rolex Matters....
Not sure if this has been posted yet...I stumbled upon it earlier this evening. Most of us on this site are hobbyists. WIS if you will..We fret over the flaws and quality of our watches. Is the new Pepsi the right colors? etcWe pontificate over what the market is up to and why we can ONLY buy Datejusts and not SS Daytonas when we visit the Rolex AD...I am very guilty of this.We are a very select group in the watch world, with highly focused opinions and interests. This is what Rolex means to rest of the world.and yes...it's a just a Datejust, but it wasn't to him and certainly not to others. https://.nytimes/2018/03/16/s...FVKqaQodUaEFCA
Hello TRF. New Member and Intro.
Hi TRF,Sorry for the longish post.New member here and my first post. I didn't find this great community until very recently. I have been trying my best to read as much as I can...but most of my time ended up in the forsale sections:)A quick and brief intro about myself and my Rolex/watch journey up til present. I am in my mid 40s and a tech executive in a tech company. I have always been happy wearing my Casios, Seikos, and Citizens as my every day watch and still am but have a few nicer watches to go with the them now. My wife bought me my first Rolex about 4 years ago, a pre-owned DateJust 16234 from our jeweler who is also a Rolex AD. I have really enjoyed this watch. The following year we bought a pre-owned SD 16600 Y serial which was a trade-in at this same store.Fast forward 2 years, I have bought 2 brand new rolexes from the same store a couple weeks ago. I wanted an everyday work watch that fits into my work environment. Something low key, not too flashy, not too big, not too
