BASELWORLD 2011 - New Model - Patek Philippe 7000R - Minute Repeater 7000
(Images and Press Release - Patek Philippe SA)Patek Philippe Ladies - Minute Repeater Ref. 7000Self-winding minute repeater of technical brilliance in an irresistibly feminine interpretationWatches with minute repeaters have always ranked among the rarest, most precious, and most elaborate timepieces. In an extremely compact space, their intricate inner life brings together hundreds of individual parts that interact and function in harmony, or move next to each other with minimal clearances, without making contact. The objective of the effort is to strike the time displayed on the dial with the best possible acoustic sonority. And so, at 3:34 for instance, the time is indicated with a dong-dong-dong for the hours on a low-pitched gong, a ding-dong, ding-dong on both gongs for the quarter-hours, and a ding-ding-ding-ding for the minutes on the high-pitched gong. Re: Calatrava - which one to buy?
About to buy myself a new Calatrava.Probably leaning towards yellow gold with a black strap. I've never had a gold watch before so I really like the idea of yellow gold on black.I've also never had a manual wound watch before. Only automatics, so I'm not sure if I should go for an auto or manual watch.Tossing up between the 5119J or 5120J or 5127J. Quite like the date on the 5127, but somehow the hobnail of the 5119/5120 just oozes class.I'm intending to wear this watch as much as I can. Will just buy a new leather strap if it gets worn out.Is there a way to know the date of manufacture from the Patek serial number?Anything else to watch out for when buying a new calatrava?
Rolex AD accepting cash or check only for BLNR?
Hey guys, I finally found a BLNR near me, but salesman over the phone said he's only accepting cash/check only on this popular piece. I was hoping to rack up some rewards points with this ~$10k purchase. Are Rolex AD's allowed to do stuff like this? Part of me just wants to pass on the watch on principle alone.
Rolex Submariner Identificatiom
Hello, I plan on acquiring this Submariner within the next few days. From what I can see this looks ok but I'm no expert. I'm meeting at the AD to purchase but I don't want to waste any of my time if it is suspect in the first place. Thanks for any feedback. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
