Calling Omega Experts
Hello, I have the opportunity to buy (what I think is) an Omega Speedmaster Mark V.It is a 43 million serial full set in what looks to be great overall condition (owners manual, hang tag, box, warranty card, receipt, extra links, etc). Are these sought-after? I searched the for sale section for comps but am not sure if I'm searching right. I searched omega Speedmaster mark v and couldn't find another one for sale. Is there a nickname or keyword I should be using? Can anyone look this over, let me know your thoughts as to condition and authenticity, and give me an idea of the demand for these? Also could you point me in a direction to look for current comp prices on these? Thanks in advance.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Patek vs Patek (5127 vs 5227)
Hi folks, I am at a stage in my life when I am kind of getting close to finally get a Patek (late 30's). Looking to reduce the no of watches ans stick to 2-3 pieces that I will own on a long term.I have a Sub that is there to stay and the rest of the watches are subject to be put up for sale to fund the Patek or other watch.I am a big fan of the Nautilus but I cannot justify paying that much for it and the Calatrava makes a bit more sense as I ll always have a sports Rolex to compliment iting back to the 2 Patek models, I did a lot of reading and took a liking to the crown guards of the 5127. I tend to think it is one of the best buys. I also like the 5227 so I am considering it.SizeOf course we are looking at 37mm vs 39mm. I have no problem with 37mm as I am old school and still believe 35mm vintage pieces are great.Movement 315 vs 324Any pros and cons here?I look forward to hear other people's experience with these models. Pros and cons, versatility etc.some photos are always nice to
Firenze!
I achieved one of my WIS goals last week and made it to the Panerai boutique in Florence! The spacious newly designed boutique is beautiful and smells of rich mahogany and leather bound books (Anchorman). It's about 4 times larger than any other Panerai boutique I have been to before and once they finish restoration and knock down the the wall to merge it with the original shop its going to be even larger. I tried to take pics of the inside but the sales rep told me that they wouldn't allow it yet because its only been open for 2 months and they havent even updated the Panerai website to showcase the new boutique. What I learned from this visit:1. You can save a lot of money over US retail in Europe. I was quoted $11,850 for a PAM 233 after VAT refund. Thats $4050 less than US retail. 2. PAM 233 wont have a domed crystal next year.3. I went in to try the 312, 233, 510, and 305 but came out LOVING the PAM 422. That thing is gorgeous in person but Im slightly unsure about its size. Hopef
