Close-Up: The New-Look Rolex Submariner (with Video)
Subtle but significant redesign is the hallmark of the redesigned Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner. The watch retains the Submariner’s immediately recognizable look but dispenses with the date window of previous models and incorporates several new technical innovations exclusive to Rolex. The watch’s unidirectional-rotating 60-minute graduated bezel is now enhanced with a black insert made of virtually scratchproof, non-fading, corrosion-resistant ceramic that Rolex calls Cerachrom. The graduations are coated in a PVD process with a thin layer of platinum. The hour markers and hands on the sleek, black dial are filled with Rolex’s proprietary Chromalight luminescent material, which emits a blue glow that the company claims lasts twice as long as that of other luminous substances used on watch dials.?The classical Oyster case of the new Submariner is 40 mm in diameter and water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters (1,000 feet). Christophe & Co. Armill Is $150,000 Self-Powering Smart Bracelet Designed By Pininfarina With Upgradeable Tech
The smart watch and wearables segment is evolving quickly and has us extremely curious to know how the luxury industry will find a space within an area they historically have very little experience - digital technology. New brand Christophe & Co. began with a very simple premise - to create an ultra high-end wearable that incorporated elements of high tech while focusing on exclusivity as a jewelry product for men. The Christophe & Co. Armill is not a watch - which leaves timepiece lovers free to wear their timepieces along side their often one-of-a-kind Christophe & Co. smart bracelet. The debut Christophe & Co. Armill models will be the "entry-level" Virtus, then Orion, and topped off with the ultra ritzy Apollo.I'll get to the technology part in a moment, but I do want to say that Christophe & Co. designed these wearables to incorporate small rotors that charge their batteries like automatic or auto-quartz watches generate power via the motion of one's wrist. Rolex 14060 U series Tritium lume or re-lumed?
Hi all! Just purchased this U Series 14060 in pretty nice condition, and I'm try to figure out whether it's been re-lumed or not. If anything maybe the pearl? Photo taken after a healthy dose of sun. Thoughts?
116618 too dressy for daily wear?
Have thought about the 116618 and wondered if it is too dressy for daily wear? I am a physician who works in a clinic. Also, I think it comes with either a sunburst blue dial or in some cases a flat blue dial with diamonds. Which looks better of those who have seen them? Thanks.
