Concorso Italiano Tees It Up for 2009
Concorso Italiano is a 24 year tradition during the Monterey classic car weekend, which includes the Pebble Beach Concourse, Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca, and several high-profile auto auctions. Held on golf links in the past, the Concorso moved to the Marin City airport last year where the acres of tarmac inspired little love among attendees and participants. For 2009 the Concorso is heading back to the fairways. This year’s event will be held at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch. The Concorso will take place on Friday August 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are available through May 31 for $85 per person. After that, the price increases to $100. Your ticket includes on-site parking. The entry is $125 through May 31 and increases to $175 starting June 1. Entry fees for non-Italian cars are slightly higher. For more information, visit concorso. Stay tuned to for reports from the show.
Oris Begins In-House Watch Movement Production With The Calibre 110
Oris is one our of favorite Swiss watch brands when it comes to offering a durable, useful design in a relatively affordable package. We especially like their sport watches including racing chronographs and of course divers. Until now most people know Oris as a company that sources movements from other Swiss companies to put into their watches. There is nothing wrong with that, but for 2014 OrisClike many others these daysCis beginning to produce watches with their own movements, starting with the Calibre 110.To be fair, this isn't the first movement Oris has produced, though it is the first under the current ownership and modern era of the brand. Oris as a brand was formed in 1904 and from then until 1981 is said to have produced a total of 229 in-house made movement types. In 1982, Oris stopped making full movements but kept on making modules that would got over other movements. In recent years all base movements have been Swiss ETA or Sellita. For 2014 Oris returns to a fully in-ho
Storage Unit Find Giveaway....
Hello all...I was recently emptying out my dads storage unit and came across (2) old Patek watch clothes and a fold out pamphlet. These items are most likely from the 80's. The clothes are old and worn (especially the middle middle one). However they have been laundered so they are clean (I am sure with some TLC they can be cleaned further). I am going to mail it for FREE to the first person who PM's me their address. * SORRY TO MY FRIENDS OVERSEAS, BUT I WANT TO KEEP IT IN THE U.S.
