Rewarding The Top 10 watches-dealer Commenters In Celebration Of 100,000 Comments
watches-dealer recently celebrated a milestone of reaching over 100,000 comments. We are more than several thousand comments over that at this point, but it was a big deal for us, since having a vibrant community of like-minded watch enthusiast individuals helps fuel our passion for what we do here at the site.In a lot of ways, we have no right to pat ourselves on the back for reaching this volume of comments. That is an honor most properly reserved for the community itself. It is true that we spend a lot of time and effort producing watch blog content for people to hopefully enjoy, but the audience who frequents watches-dealer also dedicated their time and attention - which makes all this possible. So with that said, for 100,000 comments, we wanted to do something special for the watches-dealer audience community. What we decided to do is identify the top 10 watches-dealer commenters (as measured by number of total comments) and do something special for them as a thank you for being p
Baume & Mercier Classima Executives Magnum XXL Watch
This was one of the best new Baume & Mercier at SIHH 2010, and that really isn't saying much. The brand's return to "heritage" (wow, isn't that starting to sound REALLY cliche these days) has a release of "classic" looking watches. A term that is starting to get on my nerves these days. Like the watch industry is so confused as to what happened in the last 10 years they are just trying to erase is and start from scratch. The Classima Executives Magnum XXL is actually two watches - see my images from the show. Nothing wrong wit them, but they don't really excite me as much as Baume & Mercier would like for them too.See my Baume & Mercier Classima Executives Magnum XXL watch article on AskMenwatches-dealer here.See Baume & Mercier watches on eBay here.See Baume & Mercier watch on Amazon here. What do you think about this novelty ?
Don't know the price, but if reasonable i am thinking about changing my steel roc blue dial with this piece. I think this is stunning.
Colt Automatic Chronogragh WAYYY off
So I Purchased this in November. After several weeks (giving it time to break in) it was averaging -9 sec. I took it in and got it back after 1 month. Now having worn it for a week it averaging +9. Is Breitling know for keeping such poor time? For $4,000 i would expect better from Breitling. Such an inferior watch!
Brushing Titanium PCLs? (Speedmaster 57)
Hi all,After seeing it in person, the Speedmaster 57 (Titanium on Titanium) is a really beautiful watch. As you know, the center links of the Titanium bracelet are polished, just like the Stainless Steel version. Right now, I like the PCLs, but I was wondering if I wanted to in the future, one could brush the center links to match the brushed look of the outer links.I've read that an AD could do that fairly easily on a Speedmaster 57 stainless steel bracelet, but I'm wondering if the same is true for a Titanium bracelet or would it be a more difficult (or possibly easier?) job because of the different metal characteristics. Any info would be appreciated.Thanks.
