Close-Up: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe
At Baselworld 2013, two iconic sport watches the Rolex Daytona and TAG Heuer Carrera celebrated their 50th birthdays with new models, while another historic watch brand, one with “50” in its name, celebrated its 60th. Blancpain’s influential Fifty Fathoms divers’ watch, now an entire collection, went back to the basics of its 1953 creation with the release of the vintage-inspired Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe. The first Fifty Fathoms watch named for the British measurement corresponding to approximately 91 meters, believed at the time to be the maximum depth to which a diver could descend was the brainchild of former Blancpain CEO Jean-Jacques Fiechter, who took the reins of the long-established Swiss brand in 1950. Patek 5170J - Basel Rumours
There are some rumours that Patek may discontinue the yellow gold version and replace it with a different metal.Does anyone know if this is likely to happen and whether it is worth snapping up the 5170J in advance of Basel in a few weeks?
Trip to the AD Today
Went to my local AD today to see the Blusey in person. Unfortunately they just sold it a couple days earlier but I was presently surprised at how much inventory they had. Submariner with and without date, black GMT, Air-King. They'd just gotten in a steel Daytona but that was long gone, as well as a Sea-Dweller.As usual I went to see one watch and was blown away by another. The TT Daytona and the DSSD were amazing in person. Here's some pics!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Does this look dumb on a blue pelagos?
Howdy! My blue pelagos is my one and only. However I am nato crazy....Does army green look bad on this? Should I flip the blue pelagos and go black instead? How about black bay steel instead?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Late 2002 translation warranty manual
Hi All Quite sometime ago I purchased a lady datejust for my daughter and she has managed to lose the translation manual, personally I don't think that its a big problem when it comes to value, however at the same time I would like to ensure that if it come to it she could sell the watch (very unlikely) for the absolute maximum price. I have been trying to locate a warranty translation manual for over a year now and I just cannot find any information at all, can anyone point me in the right direction of the part number that I should be looking for when doing my searches for a late 2002 translation warranty manual?
