Used values
Is it my imagination or have used values of AP increased over the past 12 months? I keep a regular eye on the Royal Oak models and they seem to be more scarce and more expensive than they were 12 months ago, although I only watch the UK market.
Rolex guys opinion on Breitling Navitimer.
Hi Guys,I know there's a Breitling section on the forum but since I want to hear the Rolex guys opinion I think this is the right section for this thread.I'm not a fan of Breitling in general but I do like the Navitimer 01, I know Breitlings resale is bad and that they can be had with good discounts,A good friend that works at an AD is offering me 3 different Breitlings models at 50% off retail, actually about 45% because it's a 50% of the price of the head plus the strap I choose at retail, and one of the models is the Navitimer 01.What do you guys think is a 50% off a brand new Navitimer a good deal?, the model they have on sale is the 43mm the 46 is not on sale. How's the quality of the Breitlings deployment buckle ?I have both options , deployment or tang on both calf and Croc, the calf with tang being the cheapest.TIA.
Please share your views and help me decide: Patek Philippe's 5396R-012 vs 5205R-001
All,I am interested in adding a Patek Philippe annual calendar to my collection and, after quite some deliberation, have narrowed the selection to the 5396R-012 and the 5205R-001. Both pieces appeal to me and are ultimately excellent interpretations of this complication, whilst each has its own unique character. I have sought to highlight some of my headline thoughts below;5396R-012+ A relatively more clean dial design+ Fantastically-formed Breguet numerals+ Supplied on a folding clasp deployant buckle+ Slimmer case+ A classic interpretation built on the iconic Calatrava case design philosophy- Complications are relatively more obscured and less easy to read5205R-001+ Spectacularly-scuplted and skelotonised lugs alongside an interesting concave (but appearing convex due to high-polishing) bezel+ Easier to read annual calendar complications, whilst the moonphase is the same as the 5396 variants+ A modern interpretation that appears to have greater versatility, being slightly more casual
SS Datytona 116520.. What future holds for this model?
Already an icon and collectible piece; no doubts in my mind.. Lusting for the white dial version but the secondary market is crazy asking usd 16.5k and up.... Even higher for the black version... Both at least with card... Do you guys think that the price will come down lower suppose there's more stocks coming for 116500? Or 116520 has already reached a cult status and prices will increase steadily? Question..... Should I pull the trigger now? Or wait?If history is any indications, prices for this Daytona is heading north for the past 3 years... What should I do? Am not rich and drawing a middle income salary and savings will hit rock bottom if I proceed to buy but really likes it..... YOLO rite? Sent from my CPH1701 using Tapatalk
UPDATE: Day Date as a Daily
HI, prior to the Christmas Holidays I posted a thread about the suitability as a Day Date as a daily wear. Inspired by the talking watches video with Jack Nickalaus I wanted to give it a try. I was asked by a few posters to report back after a month or so. So this is what I have learned.Firstly I have been wearing my 18238 about 95% of the time since before Christmas. I usually wear my Sub C on casual Fridays at work (but have worn the DD as well) and my Bluesy here and there. Over the last three months the DD has held up well. I have noticed no more scratches or marks then when I started. The big thing I have learned is that 36mm is supremely comfortable on my 7.25in wrist. I am seriously considering adding back a 116234 to my collection. The other thing I learned is, that as much as I could absolutely have the DD as a one and only, I really appreciate and enjoy having the options of the Subs. I am very fortunate to be in this position. Quite frankly I think the DD and the 114060 could
