F.P. Journe Releases Octa Perpetual Calendar
Independent watchmaker Francois-Paul Journe has added a ninth model to his eponymous brand’s Octa collection, called the F.P. Journe Quantime Perptuel, a perpetual calendar timepiece with an instantaneous jump function. The watch, which will be limited to 900 pieces, made its debut in Geneva during the SIHH and GTE watch fairs.A perpetual calendar (“quantime perptuel” in French) displays the exact date along with the day, month, and often the moon-phase by automatically taking into account the variable length of the months and leap-year cycle. Creating such a calendar is one of watchmaking’s most difficult feats, since its movement must have a mechanical memory of 1,461 days, or four years. The mechanism is usually based on a differential gear system from the hour wheel and includes several hundred components, cogs, gears, levers and rockers. Pro II Bracelet Clasp Marking
Been trying to take one of those nearly impossible photos without a Macro lens, so sorry for the photo quality. This Pro 2 bracelet just came in on a new watch I acquired, all of the markings (date and model) are where they should be, and are appropriate, however the stamping on the clasp look off to mepared to my others they seem a little deeper/wider and not as clear... My others are Colt models so maybe the slightly narrower clasp creates a crisper lettering illusion. There is no bleed through on the stamping whatsoever on the backside.Does anyone see anything that I should be worried about, or am I just being too picky and looking for things?
New Incoming 5711 White.
About a month ago I received a call from my AD that he got a watch in that I should see. He was going to have his X-mas party in a few weeks so I asked him to hold it for me. I have a 5711 blue that is supposed to be in shortly (Patek time so .......) Started a thread about having both and received mixed responses but when I saw it at the party knew I had to have it. Unfortunately it needed a link & a half so left it at the AD. Friday I received a call from AD the link arrived so picked it up Saturday. Some phone pics.
