HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 166
John and I remark over the beautiful weirdness of the "Capitaine Flam" [partially] inspired HM6 Space Pirate watch by MB&F. Here is your chance to get a well-made and affordable automatic mechanical dive watch from Orient Japan - for free. One lucky aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer reader will win this watch from Orient. The brand makes their own movements and are often very well regarded by their fans. I reviewed with Orient Mako Dive watch here myself previously. Orient takes a lot of pride in their dependable automatic watches and here is your chance to own one. Up for grabs is the special yellow dial version of the Mako Dive watch line. It is the Orient CEM65001Y timepiece. There are a number a nice Orient automatic watches I've currently had my eye on such as Orient's CFM00004W, or the CEZ05003B.Yellow is a nice alternative to orange when looking for a bold looking watch - but this model watch is also available in or
The Real Reasons Watch Reviews Don't Talk (Much) About Accuracy
If you're curious about what accuracy actually is, and what it depends on, you may want to read our earlier story, "Accuracy: What Is It, And Does Anyone Actually Care?" JFWe've talked, now and again, about the subject of accuracy – what it is, what it means, how it's valued, and most recently, what it isn't as well. One question that always comes up when we raise the subject, however, is why you don't hear more about accuracy where you'd most expect to hear about it: in watch reviews. After all, car writers give you tons of performance information – why not watch writers? Why, therefore, don't watch reviews give you accuracy info in the same way that you get zero-to-sixty figures in a car review? There are a lot of reasons why you don't see actual performance figures for watches, in watch reviews; some of the obstacles are bigger than others, of course, but they all add up to the odds being stacked against it. 5078P Minute Repeater Retail Price
If you are lucky enough to buy a minute repeater new from an AD, what is the retail price? It does not seem like Patek publishes prices for grand complications like this. So, how does the customer know what the real retail price actually is?
Submariner or Yachtmaster?
Hey everyone! After getting my Datejust II 116300 and GMT Master Coke 16170, I am planning my next piece.I am really digging the look/features of the Yachtmaster (not the Yachtmaster II, as it's out of my price range), but I also crave the Submariner. I love the look of the YM1 (Silver on silver version, but the blue looks amazing too), polished center links, dressy or casual. but also, how can anyone not love a good clean sub (date). The sub is obviously a must in anyones collection I feel, but just unsure which one to plan for. I plan on trying them both on, if I can find an AD that has them both. I bought my DJ2 brand new and obviously my GMT Coke used, but in amazing condition..so I am more than likely going pre owned at this point. For those that have both.which one do you prefer? Anyone else, please weight in!Thanks!
