Seiko Recraft Mechanical 1970s Style Watches
Full disclosure: I am a vintage Seiko fanatic. My watch-collecting journey really started with a fascination for Seiko's iconic automatic models of ��60s, ��70s, and (early) ��80s. Over the years, it's proven a great and satisfying romance, cemented by acquiring a number of great Seiko vintage timepieces �C a very rare Timesonar (one of the first watches by Seiko to have an exhibition caseback �C and therefore, sort of ever), an amazing NOS Seiko Monaco with a 7016 movement, and my first grail attained, the 6139 Pogue chrono that was renowned for being the first watch in outer space on a Skylab mission. That's why I was pleasantly surprised upon discovering Seiko, in its quiet fashion, had recently dropped a wonderfully retro-themed new collection known as Recraft. Tag Heuer Monza Automatic Chronograph Calibre 36
The figures are very retro looking and they used a cream colored lume described in blue (to match the hands). Bi-compax dial layout for the chronograph is appropriate and the watch is the 36 automatic Calibre. I believe that it is in fact an automatic high-beat Primero El Zenith. It is one of the most sought-after movements of Tag, and you can see through the Sapphire display back.

Help for Seamaster Chrono Purchase
Greetings Omega lovers from a TRF member who mostly is in the Rolex camp.As I am not an Omega expert, I need help regarding the purchase of a blue 225.80.00 Seamaster Chronometer. This purchase will be completed on behalf of my boss's wife who asked me to handle the details regarding a gift for his 40th birthday.My boss is a real wakeboard fanatic (as well as many other sports) having purchased a special boat manufactured solely for this water sport. He has indicated to me he really liked the Seamaster Chrono which he tried on in a store on Rodeo Drive in his last trip to that area.The question is - do you think this style of Omega watch is a good everyday wearer or is it strictly for water sport occasions? I handled one at an Omega AD and the sucker weights a ton!!
