F.P.Journe Homage Dinner for George Daniels
If there was was one dinner watchmakers and enthusiasts hoped to attend in 2010, it was the one organized to honor George Daniels on June 24 at the Lanesborough Hotel in London. The dinner was hosted by F.P. Journe to celebrate the achievements, innovation and expertise George Daniels has contributed to the world or horology. This exclusive dinner was organized by F.P.Journe's long time London partners, John and William Asprey of William & Son, Journe’s UK agent. At the dinner Fran?ois-Paul Journe honored his long-time friend and mentor George Daniels, one of the foremost watchmakers of the 20th century, who gave Journe the creative inspiration that has significantly stirred his horological career. In a speech at the dinner, Journe declared: Without George Daniels, I would most certainly never have stared to make my first watch. George is definitely the foremost watchmaker of the 20th Century. It was in 1969, when the mechanical watch industry was dethroned by the arrival of

ORIS Watches at The Reno Air Show 2013
ORIS Air Racing III Limited Edition Watch for 2013While I am a huge fan of pilot watches, and certainly of flying as an efficient and economical form of transportation, when ORIS invited me to attend the Reno Air Races in Nevada, I had a small pause due to a terrible accident there a few years ago and also the fact that Breitling has been historically such a huge sponsor of this event. Oris also produced a Reno Air Racing Limited Edition III watch for the 2013 event. However, after looking into the safety measures taken since and most importantly learning a bit about the brand via the Internet, my decision was clear. This could be fun, and give me an opportunity to learn more about the brand, as a few times ORIS has come up in comments on this site especially when I reviewed diving watches such as the?Sinn U1. And, most importantly, this was for me an opportunity to find out if ORIS lives up to its simple motto: real watches, for real people.ORIS' Plane the Scarlet ScreamerORIS has an i
233 being discontinued?
Has anyone heard this? Tourneau told me this, but maybe they were just trying to make a sell. I've been kicking around the idea of trading/selling my 312 to help fund a 233. Would you guys get the older dot dial or go for a newer 233? I'm trying to justify the additional funds for domed crystal, GMT, power reserve, and manual wind. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Arrested while wearing a Rolex
Hello forum I want to begin by explaining that I am not anticipating arrest or anything like that, I'm just curious lolSo, suppose you get pulled over, and arrested while wearing your watch What happens then? :First, I think the handcuffs might bang up the watch.Second, I don't think you can walk around jail wearing a Rolex (I wouldn't know).Third, what happens to your watch while you are locked away? This may be a very naive question, I don't know. But I looked it up and it doesn't look like somebody has asked this before.
