A Week On The Wrist: The Longines Heritage Military COSD
Longines has been a Value Proposition favorite for very good reasons: thanks to their history, they have a pretty fantastic repertoire of great designs and historically important watches on which to draw, and the Heritage Longines watches are such an inexhaustible supply of great looking, reasonably priced vintage watches that I’ve often been tempted to just do the whole collection in one go and save you the trouble of reading a dozen different stories. However, sometimes a watch really is worth a stand-alone look-see, and the Heritage Military COSD is one of them. 1 OF 8 The short version of the story is that the Military COSD is based on a watch issued to the British military – in particular, paratroopers – during the Second World War. As such it looks to have been a very, very straightforward timepiece, designed for two objectives: economy, and sturdiness. Pp 5726/1a
Hi all,AD just call and offer PP 5726 ( grey dial with bracelet)Currently I have 5711 blue and 5990 in collection. With 20% increase price for 5711 and 5712 in march, should i buy?I have been offered retail price.I don't have any annual calendar in my collection and i'm thinking to add to the collection.Thx.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...
There was a thread recently proclaiming the demise of Patek because TAG came out with a cheap turbillion. Well- here you go- a 160k retail tour billion piece selling for 24k. Which means those TAGs likely will go down to a few thousand dollars on the secondary market.forums.timezone/index.php...=0#msg_7281057A Patek is a Patek for a reason. While all don't retain their value, taking an almost 140k hit on a piece is bonkers.
Broken Ceramic Bezel
Took my neighbor to the beach to look around in the AD. He ended up leaving with a TT Sunburst Blusey Sub. What a Beauity. While there, the owner told us a customer brought in a watch with a Cracked Ceramic Bezel. The first one he has ever seen. He sent it off to the RSC in Ormand Beach. Wish we could have seen a few Pics.
Best Thanksgiving ever!!
Hello TRF, this is my first post but long time lurking here. I just received my black Daytona C yesterday from my AD after buying 4 watches from them since last February. 2 for me and other 2 for my sister and brother. I know most people here like the white Daytona C , but I think you have to see black Daytona C in person. It's a very sexy and mystery looking watch. Now the problem I have is they let me got 3 watches in very close period time. 36 datejust in Feb, Batman in September and black Daytona C yesterday. It hard to pick a watch to wear in the morning now. I will post more pics and post soon. Thanks everyone and happy thanksgiving. Sorry, I cannot add photo here.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk
