Dottling Gyrowinder Watch Winder
What do you get when you combine the simple task of winding a mechanical automatic watch with the sci-fi possibility of a 1990's era virtual reality gyroscope harness? You get the Gyrowinder - which is the newest high-end "presentation" watch winder from German Dottling. I call it a presentation watch winder because none of this is strictly necessary to wind a watch. Such high-end toys like this do double duty in winding a watch as well as offering a visually stimulating way of presenting it (usually just to yourself). In a sense, it is functional art that sits on your desk or on some shelf. You know those little swinging metal balls on strings that people used to have on their desks? The Gyrowinder is like a really expensive version of that, which also keeps your timepiece wound.I can see myself coming to the office, getting ready for the day by removing my watch and putting it in the Gyrowinder. Why? Well aside from keeping it wound and off my wrist while typing, I learned from movie
Debating on AP
So here is the deal I have recently been looking into the Royal Oak Offshore collection specifically the volcano and safari theme. One of the trusted sellers who I have worked with in the past has a used G serial Volcano on the forum in the 14ish range. I was contemplating trading my subc a little over a year old and my Polar explorer 2 42mm towards it. Doing the math I would probably have to kick in around 2kish dollars (plus or minus a little). Was wondering what you guys on the AP forum would do. Trade 2 for 1? The Volcano would be my only watch so i would probably have to purchase a G-shock or something for when I'm working and the Volcano would be the home/weekend watch.thanks for any advice and I appreciate it
I have verified that........
Hello all, while I was in Fort Lauderdale with my wife last week, I thought about the 116613LB (Bluesy) and noticed how many guys, and girls, on the forum vowed for its beauty. Yet there were many did not care for the watch due to it being a two tone piece. I have decided to check it out myself, not at a store but...on my wrist. I contact Colton, Cwieb, on the forum since he has the watch, and in just two days it is now on my desk for me to inspect and to VERIFY if it is as beautiful and iconic as I have read about. Here is what my conclusion is: IT IS THAT BEAUTIFUL !I cannot capture the blue color of this watch with my Iphone X ( I don't own a professional camera anyway.) but in person it is breathless.Al I can say is....................I am so happy I have it on my wrist now.Thank you so much for all the reviews from you guys on the forum that helped me making a decision to get this beauty.Enjoy the pictures (3)
SubC to SD43 back to SubC
So my journey started with the SubC for a few weeks last year, Basel 2017 hit and the SD43 releases, I called my AD and I was first on the list. Sold the SubC and waited for the SD43. I should have kept the subC to compare but I couldn’t afford It at the time. When it arrived in June 2017 I was in love, the 22mm bracelet the case size ect. Wrist presents is there, the bling and all. Well with my 6.75 wrist size I nearly pulled it off and I did, i wore a 44mm Luminox for work so the big 43mm was normal for me. What got me turned off about the SD43 was the thickness and weight. I probably wouldn’t venture into PM if the weight already an issue. I had to wear the watch a lil snug so the watch head won't flop around, I wear my watches all day and I also go to sleep with it on, waking up with a tight watch on the wrist is not comfortable. Being 43mm and 15mm tall, it got in way at times. I had to be extra careful not to bang it getting out my car and avoiding door
