Hands-On: With the Monoposto, Autodromo's First Mechanical Watch (Live Pics)
A few weeks ago we gave you an early look at the Monoposto, the first mechanical watch from Autodromo, a cool, well-conceived upstart based right here in NYC. Inspired by mid-century Italian grand prix cars, the Monoposto combines serious motoring heritage with very wearable style. Today we give you a hands-on look at this limited edition automatic. At 43mm, the Monoposto is starting to get up there in size, but it wears nicely. The tapered case sits nicely on the wrist and the thin, turned bezel makes the watch appear a millimeter or two smaller than it really is. The wire lugs might make changing straps a little fiddly, but they are pitched at just the right angle to keep the watch sitting nicely. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the details here. 2 OF 23 The Autodromo Monoposto, Black Dial The dial is bright, clean, and easy to read, but the first thing you'll probably notice is the bright red line between 9 and 10 o'clock. What to do with a white Speedy dial?
So, after searching high and low, east to west, I was able to get my hands on the white Speedy dial seen below. I'm ordering the black hands from Ofrei. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360717783.492028.jpgSo, I know this forum has a strong passion for the original Speedy Pro--but I'm hoping to get some opinions on what I should do. Please reply with an open mind. Here are a few thoughts:* Mod it into my current sapphire sandwich?* Sell the sapphire and locate a low cost head only Speedy Pro and mod it in that? (Thus not modding a higher end model.)* Any other ideas? I wouldn't keep two Speedys (one of each dial)-- so that isn't an option financially. Thanks for your thoughts.
Bracelet number
Does anyone know the bracelet number for the BROAD ARROW GMT 3581.50.00 or 3581.30.00?
Omega AD in Central Illinois area
Anyone know of one? I'm torn between the Seamaster and the Sub, had an opportunity to check out the subs today, would like to find a brick and mortar place where I can check out the Omegas. Thanks much - Chris
What side?
It may have been asked before but it's a fairly poignant one for me so I'll ask anyway. What side do you wear your watch on? And is it the same side or opposite to your dominant hand?I went for years wearing a watch on my left and being right handed. However in 2010 I had a pretty nasty motorbike accident which resulted in a smashed left wrist (amongst a lot of other things) and now even though fully recovered, a watch on my left wrist feels horrible due to nerve damage, so I wear on my right. Everyone asks if I'm left handed, and surprises them when I say no...I heard traditionally you are supposed to wear a watch on whatever side you write with, so if you need to write the time/date you can easily check first, I don't know how correct this is!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
