Undecided between business casual watches
Hello,I am pretty new around these parts, but have been bitten by the watch bug pretty hard. I currently have an Omega PO 8500 as my daily beater. I wanted something that would withstand my semi-rough ways, and the PO was perfect. It goes really well with my daily attire, which is jeans, t-shirt, and sneakers. I'd say I dress like this 95% of the time. Now I am in the market for something that is a little less casual. I very rarely dress full blown formal, so business casual is what I am aiming for. So less, day at the beach and more Easter dinner with the whole family. My current favorites (other than the impossible to find Silver Snoopy Speedmaster) are the Omega Grey side of the Moon and the Rolex GMT II 116710ln (ceramic). I like the BLNR, but I think I would get tired of it eventually (plus I love the green hand on the LN). I really like the looks of the Omega, but I already have an Omega, and am curious about other brands. Plus, I like to swap bands/straps often and I
Seamaster 60 (London area)
Ive just got a hold of an Omega Seamaster 60, 1970/71 Ref: ST 166.0062 Calibre 565.The watch is in very good conditon for its age and works perfectly but has some scuffs on the case.Could anybody recommend a watchmaker in or around the London area to carry out a refub and service. Thanks in AdvanceFitchy
Finally joined Sky Dweller club!
After much searching and politely being told no chance by several large market ADs I walked into AD in a smaller market where I have a vacation home. There was a TT Sky Dweller in display case. I asked about stainless and much to my surprise sales person brought out a white Sky Dweller brand new in box. No BS just an actual watch for sale. As some have mentioned photos do not do white dial justice. Dial is more of an off white in various shades depending on lightning. No shortage of bling on bezel. I have a blue Sky Dweller on order from European AD, but white was too tempting to pass up. Looking forward to comparing them side by side.Special thanks to jhunter3 on this forum for sending me pictures and telling about his Sky Dweller.
Explorer link, Recommendations
Had my new Explorer sized and link adjustment done by local watch / jewelry store and they botched the link screw (rough and a bit sharp) as well as the link is now stiff and not moving as it should. The closest AD is a day trip and with the holidays there's no time. The watch fits perfectly now but when I️ run my finger along the bracelet it's rough at that spot and that doesn't bode well with me. So, I️ want it fixed like new with smooth screw heads and a link that moves freely. Anyone have a recommendation as to who I️ could send it to to fix it that could do a quick turnaround? I️ don't think it's a big issue at all for someone that knows what they're doing. I️ also have read that each link screw is sized for the individual link and that you can't just use any link screw as it were. So TRF, what would you do and who would you send it to? Like I️ said the closest AD is a whole day pretty much over and back and I'm not 100% convinced they cou
