Doxa Marks its 120th Anniversary with the Ultraspeed
During its early days, Doxa was perhaps best known for the watches and watch and clock movements they developed for the automobile industry. Doxa's founder, Georges Ducommun, was a car nut who had a gas station at his residence. Today Mr. Ducommun's former home is Switzerland's largest horological museum, and the gas pumps can still be found there. His passion led Ducommun to design and development an 8-day movement to power the dashboard clocks of the legendary Bugatti automobiles.2009 marks Doxa’s 120th anniversary and in honor of Mr. Ducommun's achievements, Doxa introduces the Doxa Ultraspeed in a limited edition of 150 pieces. The 44mm stainless steel Ultraspeed is powered the Valjoux 7750 with power reserve indicator. The watch features anti-reflective sapphire crystals front and back, and it comes with a 1 year warranty.

The F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain Bleu, A Unique Tantalum-Cased Watch, For Only Watch 2015
Hot on the heels of the Tudor and Patek Philippe, Phillips Watches has announced a new unique piece from F.P.Journe to be auction off at this year's Only Watch – the Tourbillon Souverain Bleu.This is the first time that F.P.Journe has participated in the Only Watch auction and they did not disappoint. Based on the Chronomètre Bleu, which we reviewed here last year, this is one of the few tourbillon wristwatches to be housed in a tantalum-case. This is not the first time that F.P. Journe has used tantalum, as it was used to case the Chronomètre Bleu Byblos Limited Edition. 1 OF 2 2 OF 2 The Tourbillon Souverain features a reflective chrome blue dial and has an 18k pink-gold, in-house movement, which is fitted with a remontoire. ID Vintage Ladies Omega Model Please
One our wedding day, my wife inherited an 18K white gold Omega owned by her deceased mother. The watch had been kept locked in a safe for more than 12 years. The safe was installed in the floor of the house, and after it was opened, it was discovered that the safe had been flooded some time in the previous 12 years. The watch was taken to a local watchmaker, who was able to clean it up, install a vintage Omega movement, and acrylic crystal. He stated that he had the movement and parts on hand because some people are selling the watches to his partner the jeweler, for gold content, and he is able to save the movements, crystals etc. He also stated that although the movement differed slightly from original, it fit perfectly. The Omega logo, as well as any other markings on the dial were lost. Good morning guys. I need a little help with my perpetual calender. It needs service next year and I live in a country or region with no patek dealer. My father travels 14hrs specifically twice a year every 5 to drop off his watches and pick them up. That seems like a waste. What are my best options. I live in Latin America. Cheers
