Looking Time in the Eye: Two New HYT Skull Watches
Skulls are a popular motif in luxury watches lately check out our list of some of the most notable ones and now HYT, one of the most unconventional watchmakers out there, gets in on the act in its own unique “hydromechanical horology” style with the release of the HYT Skull, available in two colorful versions. To create the new HYT Skull Green Eye and Red Eye models, HYT CEO Vincent Perriard gave his watchmakers a simple but challenging goal: make a timepiece that has a totally original look but still maintains the HYT watch brand’s signature style. “Simply taking an existing movement, giving it a vague skull shape and presenting it as an entirely new piece is not really our style,” Perriard says.?The watches, like previous HYT models, use a colored fluid flowing through a thin capillary and controlled by the expansion and contraction of two vertical bellows in the movement to keep track of the hours with the aid of a numbered scale around the dial.
The series special Bentley Barnato Racing has a spectacular design
BENTLEY BARNATO RACING The series special Bentley Barnato Racing has a spectacular design that makes the most original of all Breitling for Bentley chronographs. Counters of type pointer is replaced by a system of very original type disk counters displaying the hours and the minutes of the time measured by two red triangles. The white form of the disks in silver-tone is reminiscent of the wheels on models famous Bentley which won the Le Mans 24 hours, five times entre race 1924 and 1930.Barnato and other Bentley Boys. The Chronograph 30 seconds is used to measure the best towers to the nearest 1/8th of a second. The oscillating mass inspired by the wheels on the new Continental GT offers a maximum of energy the chronometer COSC certified movement. Carved in steel for the standard version, the Bentley Barnato Racing takes an aura yet more exclusive in a room of 500 red limited Gold Edition.
Can only keep one.....but which one ?
Unfortunately, I have to reduce the stable. Currently have:ROC 26331 black dialROO Elephant 26470ROO 44 TI Can only keep one. What's the most versatile? I'm usually in a shirt and tie at work but want something of an all rounder. Love the bracelet of the 26331 but can always get one for the elephant if I go that route. The 44 is an amazingly light and comfy...but does it work as the ONE ?For perspective, I also have a PP 5980r and an IWC BP. Would love to hear some thoughts! TIA.

This post has been a little more than a week in the making.... I recently acquired my someday watch and frankly have been through the gambit of emotions since then. My first 'real' timepiece was a Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5065 that I acquired in 1999 at the ripe old age of 30. This was my first exposure to Patek Philippe and I was just smitten by the watch - with its see-through caseback and funky dial with matching tropical strap. Purchasing the watch from an AD, I started receiving the Patek Philippe Magazine and determined that my someday watch would be a complication from Patek. Over the past couple of years, I acquired a Rolex GMT II (fantastically robust timepiece) and a JLC Grand Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface Bleu (a classic design with two faces that can be set independently). Several months ago, I decided it was time to acquire a perpetual calendar, so I looked seriously at the new JLC MUT perpetual and the JLC Master 8 Day perpetual. Both are incredible watches and outstanding va
