High End Japanese Citizen Chronomaster Ultra Accurate Watch Available
The main draw of the Japan only Citizen Chronomaster (previously discussed here) is really the movement. The Citizen A660 is a thermoline quartz movement that I spent some time discussing here. In summary it is a specially designed quartz movement that is able to modulate the vibration of the quartz crystal in differing temperatures to ensure consistency, which in turn allows for greater precision. A thermoline quartz movement is accurate to within about 5 seconds year! The Citizen Chronomaster is one of the nicest Citizen watches to embody this wonderfully accurate movement (same type of movement in the Breitling Aerospace).Now, because I have discussed the merits of this watch, I will briefly mention that one is available at a very fair price on eBay right now. Court Says Swatch Can Cut Supply To Competing Watchmakers: What Does It Mean?
Swatch is having a good week.? First, the Swiss National Bank decided to purchase back an unlimited amount of Francs, causing a big jump in its share price.?Now, courts have ruled in favor of Swatch in a suit filed by 11 watchmakers that would've forced the company to continue to supply both movements and parts to competitors moving forward.? Now, they don't have to.So what does this mean? Well, it's hard to say for sure but you can bet this will hurt a host of brands - big and small - that rely on ETA hearts for their pieces.? But, at the same time, this ruling will hopefully lead to actual innovation in the watch industry by forcing more brands to build their own calibers.? And to any of you who says "But hey, manufacture movements are always really expensive!" check out NOMOS and then get back to us.Oh, and of course, even if ETA stops supplying movements, there will always be people like Sellita making movements to the exact same specifications.?Check out more details the WSJ.

Can anyone tell me whether the date function on the PO Chrono has a quickset feature or do you have to keep spinning the hands around. Thank you in advance. Best, Beaumont.

In Bangkok for a few days at MBK. Ususally don't find much here, but happened across a small grey shop. Lots and lots of goodies :).New: SD43, LV, Deep Sea, all black GMT among a few others.Used: 4 x SS black dial Daytonas, a handful of TT Daytonas, a Kermit, a few LVs, a BLNR, some PPs, some Subs, a GMT Coke, a few GMT Pepsis.Pretty cool to see all in all in one place. I only asked about the price on the new SD43 - about $15,650.
