Two for the Road: A Pair of Titanium Ingenieurs from IWC
For the new timepieces in its re-tooled Ingenieur collection, IWC Shaffhausen wanted a direct connection to Formula One auto racing, in both the watches’ design and in the materials used to make them. Hence the use of carbon fiber, high-tech ceramics, and, for two of its new models, titanium.Like all of the new IWC Ingenieur watches, launched at this year’s SIHH watch fair in Geneva, the design and construction of the Ingenieur Double Chronograph Titanium and Ingenieur Dual Time Titanium are influenced by IWC’s partnership with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One racing team. The distinctive bezels feature five screws, instead of the more traditional bores, which secure the bezels firmly to the titanium cases. IWC was among the first to introduce titanium to the watch industry in the early 1980s, recognizing the same properties that make it popular in the automobile industry: lightness (half the weight of stainless steel), resistance to corrosion and magnetism, and

How Come?
I would appreciate some suggestions. I put my Omega Constellation up for sale at this a few other forums. I advertised this 2 year old 18K SS watch for $1000 less than retail. I thought that was a good price for a two year old great condition watch and all original material. A lot of views but no takers. Any suggestions why or help.
Just picked up a 1993 GMT II Pepsi
I had always wanted the GMT II Pepsi and ended up finding a nice vintage one at a Rolex AD near me. I ended up paying $7100 and getting a service thrown in for my blue submariner. I'd like to think I got a fair deal. The markers no longer glow but I know that's not worth upgrading. Anything else I should know about this watch? I was thinking of looking for an oyster bracelet for it. It has a jubilee now. I am having some trouble uploading a photo.
Trade Pres for Daytona?
I just had a new career change and unfortunately will be making a lot less money. But I will be happier. I own two Rolex watches a two tone DJ and this Pres my DJ (recently acquired) has become so much of a daily piece that my Pres has sat almost a month without wear. Now I feel as though the DD is too flashy so I was thinking about trading for a two tone Daytona of a BLNR. What do you guys think is best for long term: value, desirability and so on. Thanks
