SIHH Sneak Preview: Baume & Mercier’s New Clifton Men’s Collection
Baume & Mercier has announced it will be launching a new line of men’s watches, called Clifton, at the SIHH watch fair in Geneva this coming January. We’ve obtained some info and photos of some of the new watches, whose design is inspired by a vintage 1950s Baume & Mercier watch. The Clifton collection is, according to Baume & Mercier, an evolution of the brand’s old Classima line. The watches have round cases and a look the company calls “contemporary and modern,” which includes a distinctive double-beveled design for the case. The watches are available with either stainless steel or 18k rose gold cases and alligator leather straps. Prices for the models will range from $2,700 to $6,300; Baume & Mercier says they will be in stores (and available online) in April 2013.Below are photos of the three models for which the brand has released information. The two steel-case models (Ref. MOA 10052 with satin-finished silver-colored dial and Ref. MO
My First Grail Watch: Eric Loth
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Eric Loth, the founder of Graham SA, about?the grails that elude him to this day.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Eric Loth (EL): I'm the founder of Graham SA. I grew up in le Locle and did my engineering studies in the region. La Chaux-de-Fonds, next to Le Locle, is now the home of Graham. The Watch valley is an area I know pretty well. And this is in this region that my passion for mechanics and precision also was born.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?EL: I started my working life at Rado. At that time, the brand was widely recognized for its creativity and avant-garde. Advanced and different materials were used such as sapphire and cemented carbide. It made me curious and fuelled my passion and fasci
luxurious Baume Mercier Riviera Magnum XXL Flyback Chronograph Watch
Now up to 45 mm in width (an increase of 43 mm) the Baume & Mercier Riviera XXL Magnum beats the old XL in size and design for the look of the sportier version of the standard Riviera watch that was not exactly stoppered first. Complications include a 30-minute flyback chronograph powered by automatic REF. 8834 mechanical movement that is likely to be a modified Valjoux 7750. The dial of the watch is something that you have probably noticed. Call it the skeleton, the call a "view to the movement", the dial is actually a Sapphire tinted black. The text and the Roman numerals are applied directly on the dial tinted in light.

Radiomir Firenze Acciaio Florence Boutique Edition
Traditionally I've always been a Luminor type of guy.Maybe its just the small child deep down somewhere inside of me but whatever it is I just love the interaction with the pull down lever and the oversized cog wheel winder every couple of days - oh, and it looks freakin' awesome too - bonus!Never really bothered with Radiomir's much, pretty much because of the reason above, just thought of them as sort of 'ok, but not for me thanks' kind of thing. That opinion changed quite dramatically recently when I stumbled across an internet pic of the Radiomir Firenze Acciaio PAM00672 - WOW! What an absolute beauty!!!Unfortunately, I have to accept that this piece will never sit in my humble watch box as its limited to 99 pieces and only available through the Florence boutique, the spiritual home of Panerai. The case work is hand engraved, so each one of the 99 pieces will be totally unique. The P3000 hand wound movement has been completely reworked and embellished with ornate designs to compliment
