Speake-Marin Marin 1 Watch Hands-On
Peter Speake-Marin is a highly noteworthy independent watch maker who has his hands in many interesting watches out there. Most important of course is his own brand, Speake-Marin. 2010 sees a new model, and most importantly a new movement - the Speake-Marin in-house made SM2 automatic. The movement is really beautiful. You can see it through the new Marin 1 watch caseback - being able to appreciate not only Speake-Marin's attention to detail and decoration, but also how beautifully it is made. The hallmark of a true luxury movement is that it looks beautiful from a quality standpoint, and that the actually design of it is made with form and function in mind. The automatic rotor has a hidden weight on the bottom so that seeing it from the top makes it look symmetrical. The design (which is carried over to other parts of the movement) of the rotor is very cool looking, like a mixture of classic floral decoration and tribal style tattoos. The SM2 automatic movement took Speake-Marin a few

Introducing The A. Lange & S?hne Richard Lange Tourbillon "Pour le Mrite," Now In White Gold (Live Pictures, Pricing)
Guten Tag again! A. Lange & S?hne sure is on a special-edition roll. We recently brought you the Langematik Perpetual in white gold, and we're happy to say that the Richard Lange Tourbillon "Pour le Mrite" is getting the same treatment. These new editions are exciting because they give us another chance to take detailed looks at what makes these watches great. So, let's look on. 2 OF 18 Firstly, the dial is argent-colored solid-silver. This creates a noticeable contrast to the blued-steel hands and virtually flawless printing of the overlaying subdials. The case, in?finely polished gold with curved lugs, measures in at 41.9 mm by 12.2 mm. Some might think it too wide, but the design actually lives up to the model's lineage. The layout of the subsidiary dials is such that they are centered on the corners of an isosceles triangle. Here's an abridged Lange history lesson. In late-18th-century Dresden, Johann Heinrich Seyffert was known as a principal pioneer of Saxon watchm
Advices on 1st Panerai: automatic or self-winding? 221 vs 233
Hi, I have always been a Rolex guy (stainless subs), mostly because of their simplicity. I am really starting to like the Panerai for the same reason, I love the narrative, I am an avid scuba diver, it seems to be a great fit... but I have no experience with self winding movements. Right now the two models I am looking at, both GMT are the PAM 221 and the 233 which has the self winding movement. Are both 100% Panerai in house movements?Any suggestions. Is one movement better? Also is the 221 a very recent addition to the Panerai line. I was wondering since I have never seen one for sale on the classified?Cheers.
Question about stickers...
Just kidding...these stickers came off almost 80 years ago!Getting together with my college theater group for our yearly black tie shindig, and this is the go-to piece. I don't get to wear it much, so it's always a pleasure to break it out. Have a great weekend, all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
