Watches NEWS
Winner Announced: Maurice Lacroix Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series Trip
Congrats to Andre M. in Oregon, USA who is the winner of the trip with watches-dealer to the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series sponsored by Maurice Lacroix in Forth Worth, Texas next month in June. It will be a fun time, and no one has to jump to prove themselves (unless they want to). Thanks again to all who enter the watches-dealer giveaways as well as Maurice Lacroix.
Titanium PO 8500 - A Stout Fellow
While I try to decide between getting a new Sea-Dweller and a DSSD, I decided I had to fill another gap in my collection - the blue dial watch. I've always wanted a watch with a blue dial, but never had one.I've been lusting after the 42mm Titanium PO ever since it was introduced, and I finally had the opportunity pick one up. (Thanks to TRF trusted seller Mosco, what a great transaction!)I had tried it on a few times before buying it and loved it. A stout fellow indeed, the case is thick as everyone says, but in titanium it doesn't seem top-heavy because it is so light. I love the 8500 movement, and the blue of the dial and bezel is just beautiful, not to mention it has that liquidmetal coolness going on.But what good is a thread without pics? Here are a few I took in the light booth at work, and a few wristies from around the city this weekend. Say hello
Patek 5167a NEED ADVICE
Hi all I was offered a trade on my PP 5167a for a Daytona white dial ceramic or an AP jumbo ultra thin blue dial 15202.What should I do?Cheers all!
When do we find out if a watch is discontinued?
With basel just days away, several rumors are flying here and there regarding what watches will be discontinued. Ok so we know new watches will be revealed at the show, but how and when do we find out which (IF ANY) watches will officially be discontinued?Do they also make this announcement on Basel? Or we just see them take the certain model down from the rolex website? If it's just website update, when do they update it?
VERSUS: Submariners Vintage and Modern
Fifth edition of the VERSUS post/picture. What is VERSUS? Well, I thought it would be fun to compare two watches (and only those two watches) and discuss pros/cons by outlining the differences and getting folks' ideas/thoughts/opinions on TRF. We got folks here that have been collecting and studying these things for decades all the way to those who are just starting to venture into the crazy world of Rolex (and everyone in between). Therefore, it would be fun and educational! For this edition, we have a vintage v. modern showdown with the iconic Submariner. A Submariner 5513 and a Submariner 114060. Kind of a grandson/granfather if you will, :)Some obvious things:Modern v. vintageMatte dial v. glossy dialTritium v.
