Hands-On: The Montblanc Heritage Chronomtrie Annual Calendar Chronograph (Live Pics)
The more time I spend in watches, the less interested I become in what the industry calls "halo" pieces. You know, those mega-comps that cost as much as a home in downtown New York, that you hear about exactly twice – when announced at Basel or SIHH, and when they sell at auction for a fraction of their original retail price. I am far more interested in great watches for reasonable prices that people can actually buy, wear, and enjoy, and that seems to be Montblanc's MO these days. We showed you this new annual calendar chronograph from Montblanc about two weeks ago, and I made a point of seeing it first thing at SIHH 2016 because, shit, it's an annual calendar chronograph for $10k. Here are some live pics and thoughts. 1 OF 7 First, they nailed the dial. It's a very complicated watch, with a lot to display, and the dial is more than completely legible. AP chrono question
Seen a few times now on these forums people talking about hopefully AP user in house movement for there chronograph. What does this mean exactly, are the movements in AP chronograph not AP movements ?If someone could explain a little please.
Looking to buy a new speedmaster
I want to get a 44.25mm speedmaster. Should I get the manual wind or the new in-house auto?
New 5712/1A
So I finally pulled the trigger after years of wanting one. I purchased from Govberg, I highly recommend them - it was a perfect buying experience. My personal preference is the 5712 over the 5711, and the current price differential made the 5712 a very easy choice. It will be interesting to see what Patek has planned for the 40th anniversary of the Nautilus...
Used Rolex Manufacturing Year
I am helping a friend look for a used Datejust right now. He made a comment to me that it appears most of the used Rolexes he comes across are credited as being manufactured in 2007. I am not sure that he has influenced me to be more cognizant of this, but it does appear that disproportionately more available used Rolexes are credited as 2007 model years. Does anyone else find this to be true and if it is, why would this be?
