Almost ready to make the jump
Hey guys,I've had my Rolex Yachtmaster Platty 16622 for a while now and I'm almost ready to make the jump to Patek. And I need your help. For a while now the nautilus 5711/1a-011 has been my grail, but I've started to develop doubts. I know its really hard to say without trying the on the watch, but I feel its going to be a bit too big on my 6.5inch wrist, the 40mm rolex feels and looks great on me (pic below). For the above reason I've started to consider a 5167A-001. How does the feel and fit on this one compare to the nautilus? Im really attracted as well to the rubber strap and the posibility of having the steel one as well, something I've been trying for my YM but havent been able to acomplish this. Final question: should I go for the 5711 or the 5167? I just want an upgrade on my YM that I could use for ideally the rest of my life. Thanks!
Which Nautilus to really balance out the collection?
Hi All,As you can see, my current collection consists of a '68 Omega Speedmaster Professional (Transitional), Patek Philippe Annual Calendar, Pre-ceramic Rolex GMT Master II, Vacheron Constantin Patrimony, and currently a Panerai Luminor 1950 3-day automatic. Since getting my AC and Patrimony, I have found that the PAM is just too big and heavy to be comfortable so am now considering to flip it and buy a Nautilus. Many of the pictures that I have seen of that watch tend to make it look quite big as well but I recently had a chance to try it on and was amazed at how comfortable it wears on the wrist. It can also be dressed up better than the PAM. I am convinced this is the way to go but am now debating between the 5711 blue, 5711 white, or the 5712. The 5711 blue seems to be the iconic watch (and I have seen numerous polls here to suggest that is the better choice) but I also really like the look of the white as well. Similarly, I like the complication of the 5712 and the hints of r
That watch is awesome!
Just received my very first Panerai today from DAVIDSW (thanks so much).PAM270
Hands
I apologize if this is in the wrong place but I didn't see another likely place for this. Are there black hands available for a 16233-3135 circa 1990 (as far as I can tell) Datejust.Bear with me bit and I'll explain why. I bought my first Rolex new in the late 70s. I was somewhat on a budget and one of the less ostentatious models caught my eye. The watch was a stainless/gold with stainless/gold jubilee band with gold crown on the clasp. It had a fluted bezel and a white face with painted black Roman numerals, and as I recall, black hands. Based on when I bought it I think it was a 16013. I came to love that watch. It was simple and elegant. (Apparently Rolex never offered that dial/hand combo again, at least as far as I can tell. If I'm wrong, please tell me.)Unfortunately the watch disappeared between my jeweler and the Dallas service center in the mid-80s. I got an insurance replacement but that white dial/black roman combo was not available. I got a champagne dial with gold roman n
