44mm IO vs 42mm mustard
Tried these on at the AD... how do you guys think they look? I am liking the fit of the titanium but the RG on the 42 looks more attractive on me, in my opinion. It might just be that shiny things attract me, but I am drawn by the thickness of the case as well. The mustard to me, as I am seeing many people refer to it as, is actually not too offputting to my eye as I know many members do not quite get a sensational feeling with it. I think pictures do not do it justice, however I do think I would prefer rubber over the leather. On the other hand, the titanium looks awesome and could be more dedicated as a daily. Almost inclined to pick one of these up. Looking forward to any honest inputs! Thanks!
My First!
Hello allI've been lurking for about a year now and chime in once in a while. After the countless hours I've spent looking through this forum and the pictures of everyone's watches I thought my first nice watch was going to be a Rolex, specifically a 116613lb. I visited several AD's throughout SoCal and Vegas and was in love with the 2-tone blue sub after trying on almost all the modern models. About a month ago I stopped by Traditional Jewelers in Newport Beach and saw they had a 15400 black dial. I tried it on and really loved it but thought it was out of my price range for at least a few years. I figured I would get one in a few years after first getting a Rolex. Fast forward....On Thursday I was in Newport again and dropped by Traditional Jewelers. They had the same 15400 black dial and I tried it on again. And I really didn't want to take it off. I tried on the 15400 and the 116613lb side by side and there was no comparison to me. The AP was just so much more refined and the finis
I'm one of you now, my new PO :)
Well I finally did it, bought my first Omega! I've really liked the orange bezel 42 PO since it came out a few years back, I had shopped them a few times but never actually pulled the trigger.Found this one locally, original owner, immaculate, worn once or twice, full set with box and papers at a great price. The only negative for me is that it's on a black rubber band rather than steel...I'm going to post a Want to trade bracelets in the For Sale section, hopefully someone will be interested. Also interested in other bracelet options, what do you wear yours on?Paul
Review and Details of New PO and SMP Prototypes at Omega Boutique L.A.
Today I went to the Omega Boutique in Los Angeles to check out the new Planet Ocean Ceramic and Seamaster Pro Ceramic. Before I post the details, I would like to thank the employees of Omega Boutique Los Angeles who brought out the watches for me to inspect personally and answered all my questions and were very, very helpful and patient. I was very impressed by their level of service.I was informed that the Omega Boutique Los Angeles is the only boutique in the United States to have these watches. They have most of the BaselWorld 2011 watches, but not all of them. The watches are stamped not for resale on the inside of the clasp and are in fact prototypes and have no serial numbers on the lugs. These prototypes are supposed to tour the boutiques in the U.S. I did not take my digital camera because I thought I would not be allowed to take pics.....I was right :)Now on to the details, I'll start with my favorite........Omega Seamaster Professional (Blue dial) 41mmRef. Maybe the Root Beer was the Coke that never was
I know there has been other members including myself that at first glance thought that the new Root Beer Bezel looked like a Coke. What if just maybe this was Rolex's best attempt at making a Coke bezel or what if the red/black combo in ceramic is not possible? Traditionally the Root Beer was been a Gold and Brown bezel or solid brown bezel. We know how difficult it is with developing colors on the monoblock single piece ceramic bezel. For instance, the best Rolex could develop the Pepsi was the cranberry/grape color. I have also read that only 1 out of 10 Pepsi bezels are used for it's watches since the process is so difficult. So maybe the root beer bezel was Rolex best attempt at the Red/Black combination but salvaged the bezel by turning it into the root beer.
