Vacheron Constantin announces a new model: the Malte Moon Phase and Power-Reserve. The barrel-shaped case measures a generous 39 x 49mm. The dial is adorned with five different finishes. The inner zone features a silvered, finely hand-guilloch�� Clous de Paris or hobnail motif. The outer zone is decorated with a vertical satin-brushed finish, also silvered. The minute circle, the power-reserve display as well as the inscriptions Vacheron Constantin Gen��ve and Swiss Made are all transferred, while the seconds subdial at 6 o'clock is circular satin-brushed. And finally, the minute-circle and power-reserve zones are screen-printed in white. The moon-phase display is composed of a disc with a galvanized base and a moon face in 18k white gold or pink gold, depending on the model. Cellini Pricing - what's fair?
Happy New Year, everyone! So, I'm particularly fond of the rose gold, black lacquer Cellini - ref 50505 - but of course cannot stomach paying MSRP for it, which is around 15,000 USD. I've looked and looked and what I find online is somewhat bizarre. Essentially, everyone offering the piece for sale, be it gray market or pre-owned, wants something in the 9000-12000 USD range, but almost all the watch pricing aggregator sites swear that it's value is closer to 4000-8000 tops (NIB). I am having a hell of a time trying to figure out what's fair to offer to sellers...thoughts on this one?
