SIHH 2015: Greubel Forsey GMT Black (Updated with Live Photos and Price)
Greubel Forsey, a brand known for its ambitious, innovative multi-tourbillon watches, introduced its own singular take on the classic world-time watch in 2011. A new execution of the succinctly named Greubel Forsey GMT, with a blackened titanium case, debuted this week at SIHH 2015.The case of the Greubel Forsey GMT Black is made of titanium and treated with vacuum-deposited ADLC (amorphous diamond-like carbon), which gives the timepiece not only its sleek, deep black look but also a surface hardness substantially harder than that of natural titanium. A black treatment is also applied to the mainplate and bridges of the movement, in-house Caliber GF05, making for a more restrained color palette intended to bring out the contrast of the textures and hand-finishes on various parts of the movement.Like its predecessors in gold and platinum cases, the Greubel Forsey GMT Black has a 24-second tourbillon with 25-degree inclination (tourbillons are standard in Greubel Forsey watches), along w
Your Feedback Is Requested In Regard To The Future Of Watch Media
Sometimes mystery isn't a good thing, especially when it comes to media that consumers trust and follow with regularity. So with that said, I'd like to begin a conversation with watches-dealer's audience on the topic of how you feel the site can continue to serve you as we grow. When you go into a store and purchase something you immediately know how that store makes money, as you just left with a little bit less funds in your bank account. When it comes to media, and internet websites, sometimes the transparency of how a company works and derives revenue is less straight-forward. The watches-dealer team doesn't like to make rash decisions on how we want to grow, because at the end of the day, we want to make sure that watches-dealer always remains a valuable resource for consumers and its followers. The Issue: Sustainable Growth & TransparencyWhat is this conversation really all about? It is about you as an audience and watch community member offering feedback on how we might grow
Can you spot the small change to my FC?
Made a slight tweak to the FC, can you spot it? EDIT: Pic removed, was not aware of forum rules, sorry!Mods, feel free to delete thread. I'll post a different photo next time.
First Omega!!!!
Alright I'll be honest I've always been a Rolex fan and thought I would never get an omega. But in the past few weeks I've seen so many speedmasters on people, forums, and random articles that I started getting the itch. I thought I was done with watches for at least a few years after getting my SubC and GMT2 BLNR but I was wrong. Since my last name is Moon I always felt I needed a moonwatch but got mesmerized by the Daytona as my future chronograph. But then after stumbling on speedmaster history I was totally obsessed. I started with whether or not I wanted the sapphire sandwich since I love display backs especially for such a beautiful movement! Every forum I read said the hesalite is absolutely critical. Eventually after seeing sapphire in person I realized the hesalite was the way to go. But then I saw the 3572.50. Long story short I still want it and I'm looking for a NOS 3572.50. But in the mean time.....I emailed DavidSW and picked up a perfect speedmaster with all the extra go
My Latest Acquisition: Omega SMP Chronograph
Just thought I would share a few shots. Picked this one up from a great member here on TRF. I absolutely LOVE the way the watch looks. And to make it even better, it's been 48 hours and the watch is only a second slow. I'm really lucking out with these super accurate time pieces! Excuse the poor quality shots as these were taken with my iphone 4.
