RGM Marks 20 Years With Third In-House Caliber
RGM, the pioneering Pennsylvania-based watch brand founded in 1992 by Roland G. Murphy, turns 20 years old in 2012. Murphy commemorated the anniversary in the manner he knows best: by developing his brand’s third in-house mechanical movement, called Caliber 20, and outfitting it in a new watch that RGM introduced at January’s Geneva Time Exhibition.Caliber 20 joins its predecessors, RGM’s groundbreaking Caliber 801 in 2008 and the MM2 Pennsylvania Tourbillon movement in 2010, in the exclusive fraternity of “Made in the U.S.A.” watch movements manufactured entirely at Murphy’s small atelier in Pennsylvania’s Lancaster County, a traditional center of watchmaking since the 1800s.Fittingly, the watch’s movement incorporates a distinctly American technological touch, one nearly lost to antiquity: the so-called “motor barrel” system. An American invention, the motor barrel (illustration below the watch photos) was designed to reduce
Sell my Panerai 112 to fund a 3570.50.00 Moonwatch
I like my 112 (and my sub), but ever since I saw someone make a comment on here about them being a bit stockbroker 2006 I've kinda been thinking the same thing, especially as its not wondeful with a suit n double cuffs. Ideally I'd like to keep the 112, but financially it's an either or situation.I've statrted to think about the Moonwatch as being a bit more suitable for a 40 something officedweller. It has the dispaly case back and handwound movement appeal of the 112.Thoughts???
Omega Speedmaster 1967 Caliber 321
Hi All,Need some help here.Recently my vintage watch got flooded with water while on a holiday and apparently the seal was very old and needed a replacement. Hence, I need to replace the dial (with the applied logo) and all the hands due to the condition of the watch. I found Ofrei and I am trying to order the parts from them but I am not familiar with their part numbers since some of them don't even have pictures available.Anybody could help me with all the part numbers? Big thanks beforehand!

question re: warranty
I purchased my first PAM (388) not too long ago (great transaction). It's a year old and has a year left of the warranty. After 3 weeks it stopped running (just stopped....) Despite winding, checking the positions etc it would not start again. I sent it to the Dallas repair facility (after speaking to them). The customer service was wonderful. But now I got the written estimate and they said they recommended a $260 maintenance service (but said the finding was that the movement accuracy was within specifications). I need to call them tomorrow for more clarification, but wouldn't it still be covered under warranty? And if the findings were that it's running within specs, why would it need a maintenance service after a year? I'll find out if they got it running again but I was curious what people's thoughts were about this. You can pm if you'd like. I did send the warranty booklet with the watch. hoping it was just an error. Thanks in advance for any information or thoughts (or advice).
