New Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Limited Edition Begins Countdown to 2018 Olympic Games
The next Winter Olympics, to be held in PyeongChang, South Korea, begin on February 9, 2018. Omega, official Olympic timekeeper since 1932, begins the two-year countdown with the launch of its Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “PyeongChang 2018” Limited Edition timepiece. After going to its Speedmaster collection to commemorate this year’s summer games in Rio de Janeiro (a Bullhead and a Speedmaster Mark II), Omega turns to its sporty, maritime-themed Seamaster Aqua Terra family characterized by its teakwood-deck-motif dial, here in blue PVD to represent the PyeongChang winter games. The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “PyeongChang 2018” Limited Edition adds to the familiar Aqua Terra design codes with the words “PYEONGCHANG 2018,” in the colors of the five Olympic Rings, inscribed on the minute track. In an amazing coincidence, the numerals “2018” align precisely with the “18” and “20” minute indices, a phenomenon tha
GSOTM in the flesh!
Well colour me surprised! Walking past an omega boutique I look in the window and staring back at me is a grey side of the moon! I didn't think they were available until next year but lo and behold there it was. As a DSOTM owner of course I had to go in and try it on. It is much more silvery and shiny than the pictures give away, very metallic looking. It's very pretty and the leather strap works extremely well with the watch. In fact I am hoping they release a black croc for the DSOTM. It took all my will power not to buy it there and then. I think two of the same model is excessive for me!Now do I prefer the GSOTM to the DSOTM?? Not sure is my answer right now. I think you cannot go wrong with either. Please enjoy some of the pictures! I have returned to Omega...
After owning a 45.5 Orange PO for over a year as my daily wearer, I sold it this past spring to help fund my first Rolex. Here it is on the rubber strap, but I had it typically on the S/S bracelet:And, I had to own one again. I loved the feel of that watch, on my 8.5 wrist.Well, now I do own one again, but this time a black bezel 45.5 with orange numbers:GLAD TO BE BACK!!!
