Next month at SIHH Jaeger-LeCoultre will introduce the new Duom��tre �� Quanti��me Lunaire 40.5 – a slightly smaller version of the original 42.5mm watch that debuted in 2010. The new model’s case measures 13.07 mm thick and is 18k pink gold. Production is not limited.Jaeger-LeCoultre’s goal with the Duom��tre series is to develop complicated watches that keep time with great accuracy. The goal is achieved by means of the Caliber 381’s “dual-wing” design which features two independent power supplies: one regulated by the escapement and balance, and the other for the time, date and age of the moon displays. This arrangement takes the complications out of the power loop, so to speak, allowing a smooth flow of energy to the escapement. Navy SEALs Test Jaeger-LeCoultre in the Field
When the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum hosted its 24th annual Veterans Day Ceremony (known as the Muster ) at Fort Pierce, Florida, members of the Jaeger-LeCoultre North American team were on hand to witness and participate in the activities, including a 5K race, a live auction, and a live capabilities demonstration preformed by US Navy SEALs. The ceremony honored several guests including Adm. Eric Olson, commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, and guest speaker Capt. Richard Phillips, former captain of the Maersk Alabama, who was held captive by pirates off the coast of Somalia before being rescued by the Navy SEALs. Planet Ocean GMT 2013 bought! HELL YEAH!
I worked hard and long for the Omega planet ocean Orange Crono but after many days of talks..and frankly the unavailability of the the color choice for my time frame I bought the limited edition or so i was told Planet Ocean GMT instead! I'm so happy with my purchase! here are some pics of this beautiful watch.next perchance is the blue rubber band with white stitching! love the look of that but at 400 bucks with the buckle it may be awhile.

Omega Lume Questions...
I have a couple of questions regarding Omega lume.The lume on my old Seamaster and PO 2500 was of course, green and absolutely superb.The lume on my new Seamaster Ceramic and PO 8500 is blue, with green on the minute hands and lume pips and IMHO, isn't nearly as good as the old green lume.Question one: Why did Omega make this change? I know Rolex is using blue lume on some of their models now, too. Was it to try and keep up with them, or is there some reason blue lume would be better? It just isn't as bright.Question two: I read on a different Omega forum that Omega was using Seiko lume (Lumibrite?) This makes no sense. Lumibrite is Seiko's proprietary lume.
