Bring a Loupe: Two Vintage Omega Speedmasters, A Larger Patek Calatrava, A Great Futurematic From Ja
This week, Bring A Loupe covers some of the most emblematic wristwatches ever made – watches that have become symbols of the companies that made them. We're starting with a couple of vintage Speedmasters, and you will also see a Futurematic from Jaeger-LeCoultre as well as a Cricket from Vulcain, both technically advanced watches for their time. Finally, Bidder Beware returns with two watches that you should absolutely not buy on eBay today (or ever). This is your Bring A Loupe for January 15, 2016. An Omega Speedmaster Reference 2915-3, AKA The Transitional 1 OF 12 The Reference 2915 was the first Speedmaster ever produced, over a three-year span from 1957 onwards. As it often happens with vintage watches, it is also the most coveted and valuable of the Speedmasters; think for instance of the first GMT from Rolex or the first waterproof chronograph from Patek – both enjoy greater success with collectors than later models. Royal Oak 15450 problem?
Hello,Yesterday i received my 15450. I wound it and it starting to run. All good. I woke up this morning, time was accurate andi put it on. However, 2 hours later i noticed that it stopped. First i throught maybe its the power reserve although strange since i was wearing it for a couple of hours. So i wound it. Nothing happend. I wound it again, changed the date and time. Still nothing. Then i started to shake the watch so the rotor was making complete movements. This worked as the watch started to work again. Now, when i turn the watch and i can hear the a rather loud noise from the rotor. I do not know if this is normal since i didnt pay attention to it when i got it last night. Its like a loud winding noise. Can anyone please tell me if this noise is normal?

Advice needed...
Hello TRF memebers,To commemorate my birthday and a special moment in my life in April, I was on a quest to find a Patek 5127, which has always been one of my favourites. As the model was discontinued in 2013, pre-owned was the only option, and in searching for one, I found one at Watchfinder.co.uk via their website.Having initiated the transaction on their websibe, I had the first viewing of the actual piece at their showroom in Royal Exchange in the City, the piece seemed OK at the time. In this light, I decided to go ahead with a part exchange deal for my AP + cash for it (the trade price wasn't great but I understand that they are a business). I handed them over my AP and settled the agreed difference at their Royal Exchange store but I wasn't allowed to take the 5127 there and then, as the deal was subject to them being happy with my AP. So the sales assistant took the 5127 back to the stockroom, and in doing so, she dropped the watch on their table, which is covered with some sor
If you could keep only one watch (116500LN vs 16610LV)
Hi there - so I've reached a point where I need to downsize my collection, but just can't decide which to keep. My collection right now consists of the 116500LN Black Dial, 16610LV and a speedmaster mitsukoshi dial.If you could keep just one Rolex which would it be?Looking forward to your input!Christophe
