Bavarian Crono Focke-Wulf FW 200 Watch
When it comes to using bits of historical aviation equipment in the physical construction of a watch, it would seem Bremont has some competition, and from Germany no less. We have showed you watches from Bavaria Crono in the past and today's watch features a handmade dial which uses original metal from the last known Fock-Wulf FW 200 Condor. The Condor was a very advanced (for its time) commercial airplane and is known for being the first airplane to travel from Berlin to New York without stopping. The Bavarian Crono Aviators Focke-Wulf FW 200 is a 46mm stainless steel watch powered by a lightly-decorated ETA 6498 hand wound movement. Along with sporting original metal from an actual FW 200 Condor, the FW 200 watch features a hand design which is similar to that seen in the gauges of the original plane and the hands, minute and chapter markings have been fully lumed for low-light legibility. My first Omega, Seamaster Pro "Bond" model!! PICS!
I picked this up today locally. I paid $1100 for it. Has the outer box and inner box along with the papers too! It is an 80041xxx serial. What year would that make it? I think its a 2000-2001 but Im not sure. What Reference would it make it as well? Is this the 2531.80 reference too? I have always wanted and Omega Seamaster too! Finally I have one. The build quality is beautiful and its heavy. It puts the Rolex Submariner to shame in that department. Taking nothing away from the Rolex Sub, as its an iconic piece and will one day own one Im sure. It just feels flimsy and cheap in its bracelet to me for the price of the watch. I must say this watch gives me more satisfaction than even my Rolex watches and I dont know exactly why. I cant take it off! Here are some pics for you guys! I know we all love pics!
New incoming - their tactic worked!
Earlier this week my local AD hooked me up with a hulk when I went in to look at a DD40, this 'favour' meant I had no option but to go ahead with the DD40 purchase - I am a gentleman after all In all seriousness though, I am very pleased with this new purchase, Rolex's yellow gold is such a wonderful colour and the president bracelet combined with the fluted bezel is an absolutely winning combination. I had thought about a different dial but in the end it had to be the classic & iconic champagne with sticks The AD was kind enough to include a battery operated watch winder (much needed for my safe!) and a lovely Rolex overnight bag - plus I earned enough Avios for a weekend city break so will be able to use the bag soon. So a very satisfactory transaction and it's great to have a 'good' AD in my local city. Some pics of the arrival, meeting its new stablemate, and a couple of wrist shots in the sun.Cheers everyone RJ
