Thinking about adding back a ROO this week. With AP prices down, if I can find a good deal I might just jump on it? Any suggestions? Debating a new one- based on a possible reduction of production, or the old RG/old ceramic. Thoughts?JPS
An Omega...Sort of..
I always get questions when I wear this watch.... Here are fresh pictures..Lanco was made by the Langendorf Company (LanCo) in the mid 1800's, and ceased production in about 1973.. During it's last years, this company was owned by Omega/Tissot and Omega did market the name with Tissot movements.. This great company was a very progressive company and only fell due to mis-management and not because the movements or watches were second-class. It became a victim of the Quartz movement as Omega moved to consolidate and keep itself alive..This one is from the mid-60's, a few years before the buy-out by Omega>You can see the dial shows 45 years of time and also has a touch of moisture issue at the top... however, everything, including the crystal is original (except the strap)The dial is unusual because it has the traditional tachymeter in the black outer chapter, but also has a Telemeter dial with red numbering.. Panerai Pam00448 vs. Pam00449 (UPDATED)
I have just bought my PAM 449 from takuya aka thanh do. Should receive it next week. Will post photos soon.Anyway, after doing some research i realize...PAM 448Is a gorgeous looking watch. Hardly anyone would argue on that. Gorgeous ...highly sort after dial with an in house movement. SE to 750 pcs. However, many are worried about the future value as there are already many cali dial were made before this, especially the PAM 249 being the original. Thus, some might still prefer the PAM 249 if/when the price of PAM 448 goes up to the same as PAM 249. Only + points that lure collectors towards PAM 448 are, lower SE number. 750 pcs comparing to PAM 249's 1936 pcs. In house movement of course, and thicker case thus more beefy looks. Bottom line is, there are still PAM 249 in its way.PAM 449 Besides the looks (either you love it or hate it), it is the 1st prototype of an SLC dial with blue hands. The only reason stopping you from buying this is probably again, the dial/looks of the watch. Ot
