Welcome back to an watches-dealer original series, where we discuss important stores that sell watches all over the world. Each store we profile has an interesting story to tell about where they operate and who they sell to. Whether you buy watches from brick and mortar retailers or prefer to buy watches online, these are the stores that help shape our watch culture around the globe. There is a long list of stores to cover, but if there is a retail location in your favorite city that we simply can't miss, let us know in the comments below.Where to buy watches in Birmingham, Michigan?"The report of my death was an exaggeration" (the proper quote of Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens) might equally apply to Motor City, USA, as Detroit is very much alive these days. Its biggest fans may well be those who stuck with their home town during the lean years and are now proudly enjoying its reemergence as a major American city and economic center. In that vein, we today feature Darakjian Jewelers, which
1947 Breitling Datora rescue!
Dear Friends, here's a 785 I chanced upon with a rare dial configuration with gold dot markers on the dial. I initially wasn't sure about this configuration so contacted knowledgeable forum friends who confirmed it was all original. I then came across some advertisements (seen in pics) showing the same dial configuration and knew I had to breathe life into this watch. Off it went to a known vintage Breitling repairer who did his best to preserve this watch for the future. Offcourse the dial does show it's age so not much could be done about that but he put in plenty of effort into getting the movement and parts working again besides some other essential repairs. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Before PicsAt the SpaAfter Pics

Pragnell - Mayfair, London
Pragnell have opened up a new branch in Mayfair and have had some hard to find models popping up in the window since they opened. They had a 5930G in the window a few weeks ago and today they had a 5235G, neither of which I have ever seen in an AD window in London before!Great store and friendly staff so worth popping in if you are in the area.
Help! What would/did you do?
I've probably mentioned this in previous posts but I figured I'd put it out there and elicit some opinion and advice.I have a decent collection of Rolex watches. SS Daytonas, Subs, Pepsi GMT Etc. All watches are Pre-ceramic and none massively oversized. All worn but in very good condition.I now have two Pateks and will eventually get a Perpetual Calendar and maybe even an Annaul Calendar. Who knows when, but it will happen. After buying and wearing Patek, I no longer have much of an appetite for Rolex. A Patek is special. I dont know why, they just feel different. I'm not a buyer of hype, propaganda or slick advertising. I just really like them. Maybe I'm just getting old(er). So what do I do? I'm not a trader. I've never flipped anything. I look at my Rolex watches and I think they are great. Good tough watches that can take a lot of punishment. I seemed to have lucked out and acquired watches that pretty much keep perfect time. Really lucky. But I look at them and f
