Hands-On: With The Patek Philippe 5204 Split-Seconds Chronographs With Perpetual Calendar (Live Pics
Saying a new Patek Philippe reference is impressive is sort of redundant in itself. But the 5204 is really impressive. It's a new perpetual calendar with split-seconds chronograph for Patek, replacing the 5004 in the lineup, and offering a number of significant improvements. We got our hands on one back at Basel 2012 and have all the details. We'll start with the most basic differences. First, Patek has chosen to up the case size from 36.7 to an even 40 millimeters in keeping with the modern trend for larger watches. It's a huge jump, but 40mm is still a more than reasonable size and looks quite good here. 2 OF 17 Currently the 5204 is only being produced in platinum (5204p-001 being the full reference for this piece), and while the 5004p was most often seen with arabic numerals, the 5204p features applied gold baton markers with luminescent fills instead. The dial itself is opalescent 18k white gold and the hands are black oxidized gold with Super Luminova inl
Introduction - Question re: Vintage 96
Hello all i've lurked here for a number of years - i wish i would have bought some vintage rolexes back in 2013 when i was really actively looking at some and registered here!(currently on a two-year list for a 116500LN)I want to get a vintage patek 96 to dip a toe into the vintage patek game. I know it's small but i actually am enough of hipster-wanna-be to be able to wear it i think. Also with the bigger crown, 18mm strap and vintage nature it clearly looks like just an old watch to me as opposed to something elseAnyone have a 96 and would care to share whether or not they've been happy with it?Thanks!FA

Three Way Trade= Pepsi Jubilee
Hi, so after many days of trolling through the internet for a suitable super jubilee, I've come up with a (temporary?) solution using what's on hand.U serial 16570 Polar gets SEL Oyster bracelet from Y serial 16710 Pepsi;7,2xxx (birth year) 16014 gets HEL Oyster from 16570;Y serial 16710 gets 62510H jubilee from 16014... & viola! Had to slightly adjust the DJ's 555 endlinks to fit the Pepsi but all seems to fit okay. Don't worry, I am on the hunt for more suitable 502t endlinks! Bonus is that my DJ instantly becomes more wearable and the SEL bracelet upgrade significantly improves the previously rattly Polar! Anyway, this was my quick and nasty remedy to catching Basel-Pepsi fever (it's going around) without having to endure the years long wait list from the AD or inevitable extortionist grey markups... or am I doing it wrong? Federer's Wife's watch
Does anyone know what beautiful Rolex Federer's wife was wearing at the finals? It looked great on her.
