In honor of its second year of partnership with amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, jeweler/watchmaker Harry Winston has announced the launch of the Countdown to a Cure Timepiece. Designed exclusively for amfAR's Countdown to a Cure campaign, this limited-edition watch (20 each of the men's and ladies’ models), is the first official product to benefit amfAR's efforts to develop the scientific basis of a cure for HIV by 2020.Both watches are part of Harry Winston's Midnight Collection. The men's version (priced at $21,200) features a 42-mm-diameter white gold case and a navy blue dial; the dial is accented with a multicolor gradient that represent amfAR's Countdown to a Cure campaign colors, symbolizing the fade of the disease from crisis to cure. Did anyone else see on the one of the stock channels on television this morning, that PP brought and displayed this uber special model with over 600 parts in it, various chimes which the PP President tunes himself, and it took over 5 years to build with over 100 man hours alone on the enamel dial, which has a cost of $1.2M Swiss Francs, on a leather strap, and on and on - and they said that you have to - are you all ready..plete A Customer Application including information on your current watch collection in order to even Be Considered a high brow enough watch enthusiast in order for PP to even Consider Selling you this watch.....good thing I was friends with my AD as obtaining my black faced Daytona a few years ago was a little easier.

What Leather Strap for DJ 36mm or DJ II (41mm)?
What recommendations does anyone have for a leather strap for either of these watches?I am trying to help a friend find a nice automatic watch with roman numerals and a date and a brown leather band. Its not that easy to find, so I thought one option is to find the right watch and then add the leather band. I'd love to see any pics of a SS DJ with brown leather band.
